Inleiding
Voormalig schoolgebouw, gebouwd in 1902, zijnde oostvleugel van "De Weijer". Sinds 1975 is "De Weijer" in gebruik als cultureel centrum, de oostvleugel fungeert onder andere als bibliotheek, leeszaal en muziekschool.
Omschrijving
Oostvleugel van "De Weijer", gebouwd als school (eerste steen in zuidgevel "1902 H. Kersten Pastoor 23 juli 1902") met U-vormige plattegrond, twee lagen en kap. Gevels in rode baksteen, gemetseld in kruisverband. Zadeldak met grijze muldenpannen. Gevelbeeld van Heilig Hart aan de zuidzijde (onder baldakijn). Inwendige structuur aangepast aan nieuwe functie. Tussen begane grond en verdieping zijn de historische houten trap en de natuurstenen trap behouden. Oorspronkelijke kapconstructie.

Former school building, built in 1902, being the east wing of "De Weijer". Since 1975 "De Weijer" has been in use as a cultural centre, the east wing serves amongst others as a library, reading room and music school.

East wing of "De Weijer", built as a school (foundation stone in south facade "1902 H. Kersten Pastor 23 July 1902") with U-shaped floor plan, two storeys and roof structure. Facades in red brick, laid in running bond. Saddle roof with grey Mulden tiles. Facade image of Sacred Heart on the south side (under baldachino). Internal structure adapted to new function. Between ground floor and upper floor the historical wooden staircase and the natural stone staircase have been preserved. Original roof truss structure.
