Omschrijving onderdeel 6. Folly.
In de zuidhoek van het park ligt een ruïne, die onterecht over het algemeen 'ijskelder' genoemd wordt. Het is echter een folly, een artefact in de tuinaanleg die bijdraagt tot de romantische beleving van het landschapspark. De folly bestaat uit een met puinsteen opgemetselde, gebogen gang, een grotje, overdekt door een kunstmatig aangelegde aarden heuvel. De ingang ligt aan de zuidkant: een deuropening met rondboog en vleugelmuren aan weerskanten. Getuige een 'rotsblok' met inscriptie in de gang, kwam de folly in 1876 tot stand: 'CGV 1876'. De gebogen gang loopt door naar het noorden en heeft daar een identieke opening met vleugelstukken. De gang is met gele en witte bergkristallen versierd. Op de kunstmatige heuvel heeft een gemetselde koepel gestaan. Voor de zuidelijke toegang bevond zich een achtzijdige gietijzeren prieel. De folly is in slechte staat. De gang is voor een deel ingestort, koepel en prieel zijn verdwenen.

Description of component 6. Folly.
In the southern corner of the park lies a ruin, which is incorrectly generally called an 'ice house'. It is however a folly, an artefact in the garden layout that contributes to the romantic experience of the landscape park. The folly consists of a curved passage built with rubble stone, a grotto, covered by an artificially constructed earth mound. According to a 'stone block' with inscription in the passage, the folly came into being in 1876: 'CGV 1876'. The curved passage runs through to the north and has there an identical opening with flanking pieces. The passage is decorated with yellow and white quartz crystals. On the artificial mound stood a built dome. In front of the southern entrance stood an octagonal cast-iron shelter. The folly is in poor condition. Part of the passage has collapsed; dome and shelter have disappeared.

Folly, belonging to the historic country estate Vredenoord, is of importance:
