Omschrijving onderdeel 2. Historische tuin- en parkaanleg.
Het karakter van het park wordt bepaald door de historische verkavelingstructuur van de middeleeuwse ontginning. De formele aanleg van het park gaat terug tot de eerste helft van de 18de eeuw, de landschappelijke component die daarover heen is gelegd dateert van het begin van de 19de eeuw. Van 1812 dagtekent de kadastrale minuut die het landschapspark weergeeft. Het park loopt van noordwest naar zuidoost en strekt zich uit vanaf de Jan Thijssenweg (de weg van Delft naar Voorburg) aan de Vliet tot de parallel daaraan lopende kavelsloot aan de zuidoostkant. Aan de zuidwestkant loopt over de hele diepte van het perceel een slingerende, met eiken beplante, laan, die zich voortzet langs de zuidoostzijde en met een curve over en rond de driearmige vijver slingert om weer uit te komen op de laan aan de zuidwestkant. Langs de laan, op de zuidpunt van het terrein ligt een heuvel met daaronder een tunneltje, een folly (zie hiervoor onderdeel 6). Op de oostpunt van het park ligt op de grens van de vijver en de aansluiting op de achterwetering een kunstwerk in de vorm van een overlaat, ter regulering van de waterstand. Bij de kop van de vijver aan de noordwestkant wordt de uitzwenkende bocht van het water en het daarnaast gelegen pad begeleid door op regelmatige afstand van elkaar geplante eiken. Aan de noordoostkant bevindt zich aan de Jan Thijssenweg een toegangshek (zie hiervoor onderdeel 7). Van daar loopt een laan thans met esdoorns beplant en deels door een muur begeleid (zie hiervoor onderdeel 8) in de richting van het voormalige koetshuis (zie hiervoor onderdeel 3). Van de formele 18de-eeuwse aanleg is de loop van een aantal paden en voormalige kavelsloten nog herkenbaar bewaard gebleven.
Waardering
Historische tuin- en parkaanleg behorend tot de buitenplaats Vredenoord is van algemeen belang:
- wegens de ouderdom;
- wegens de restanten van de vroeg 18de-eeuwse formele aanleg;
- wegens de goed bewaarde landschappelijke aanleg uit het begin van de 19de eeuw;
- als gaaf en goed voorbeeld van een buitenplaatsontwikkeling binnen de historische verkavelingspatronen;
- als goed herkenbaar gebleven onderdeel van het buitenplaatsenlandschap langs de Delftse Vliet;
- wegens de funtioneel-ruimtelijke relatie met de overige onderdelen van de buitenplaats.

Description of component 2. Historic garden and park layout.
The character of the park is determined by the historic subdivision structure of the medieval land reclamation. The formal layout of the park dates back to the first half of the 18th century; the landscape component laid over it dates from the beginning of the 19th century. From 1812 the cadastral plan dates which depicts the landscape park. The park runs from northwest to southeast and extends from the Jan Thijssenweg (the road from Delft to Voorburg) at the Vliet to the parallel field ditch running on the southeast side. On the southwest side, over the entire depth of the plot, runs a winding lane planted with oaks, which continues along the southeast side and winds with a curve over and around the three-armed pond to emerge again on the lane on the southwest side. Along the lane, at the southern point of the grounds lies a hill with a small tunnel beneath it, a folly (see component 6 for this). At the eastern point of the park, at the boundary of the pond and the connection to the rear water course, lies an artwork in the form of an overflow weir for regulating the water level. At the head of the pond on the northwest side, the outswinging curve of the water and the adjacent path are accompanied by oaks planted at regular intervals. On the northeast side, there is an access gate at the Jan Thijssenweg (see component 7 for this). From there runs a lane, now planted with sycamores and partly accompanied by a wall (see component 8 for this), in the direction of the former coach house (see component 3 for this). From the formal 18th-century layout, the course of a number of paths and former field ditches remains recognisably preserved.
