Omschrijving
STENEN STAL, onderdeel van het boerderijcomplex 'Herberg van Friesland'. Blijkens het jaartal in de sluitsteen is de stal gebouwd in 1900. De stal ligt vrijstaand ten westen van de boerderij, met de nok van het dak evenwijdig aan de straat. Het gebouw bestaat uit één bouwlaag met een zadeldak tussen topgevels. Het dak is gedekt met elkaar afwisselende banen van rode en grijze pannen. Het geheel is opgetrokken in rode baksteen. De beide eindgevels kennen een zelfde symmetrische opzet met een getoogde dubbele staldeur waarboven de hardstenen sluitsteen met jaartal, aan weerszijden een getoogd venster en boven de staldeur een hooiluik en een rond raam in de top. De geveltoppen zijn in vakwerk uitgevoerd met een decoratieve vulling van rode en gele baksteen. Het dakoverstek is uitgevoerd met een profiel. De zijgevels hebben ieder een drietal vrij hooggeplaatste stalramen. Rondom zijn smeedijzeren sierankers met een drakenkopje aangebracht. Inwendig heeft de stal een constructie van muurstijlen op poeren. Hierop rusten de balken voor de zolder en de grenen kapspanten. De stal is in gebruik geweest als potstal.
Waardering
De stal is van algemeen belang vanwege - architectuurhistorische waarde als enerzijds een uiting van destijds gangbare schilderachtige vormgeving, maar anderzijds zeldzaam in de wijze van toepassing in dit gebouwtype; - de ruimtelijk-functionele samenhang met de overige complexonderdelen; - de stedenbouwkundige en landschappelijke waarden; - vanwege de grote mate van gaafheid, waarin o.a. het duidelijk herkenbare gebruik als potstal.

Description
STONE STABLE, component of the farmstead complex 'Herberg van Friesland'. According to the date in the coping stone the stable was built in 1900. The stable stands free to the west of the farmhouse, with the ridge of the roof parallel to the street. The building consists of one storey with a saddle roof between gable ends. The roof is covered with alternating bands of red and grey tiles. The whole is constructed in red brick. Both end gables have the same symmetrical arrangement with an arched double stable door above which the stone coping stone with date, on either side an arched window and above the stable door a hay door and a round window in the apex. The gable tops are executed in half-timbering with a decorative infill of red and yellow brick. The roof overhang is executed with a moulding. The side facades each have three fairly high-placed stable windows. Around are wrought-iron ornamental wall anchors with a dragon head. Internally the stable has a structure of wall posts on bases. On these rest the beams for the loft and the pine roof trusses. The stable was used as a cow stable.
Valuation
The stable is of general importance on account of - architectural-historical value as on the one hand an expression of the picturesque design customary at the time, but on the other hand rare in the manner of application in this building type; - the spatial-functional coherence with the other complex components; - the urban planning and landscape values; - on account of the great degree of completeness, in which among others the clearly recognizable use as a cow stable.
