Omschrijving
KOETSHUIS annex DIENSTWONING, als onderdeel van de historische buitenplaats Soeslo, dateert uit de 17de eeuw. Het koetshuis annex dienstwoning, is zuidwestelijk van het hoofdhuis gepositioneerd en ligt ten opzichte van de gelijk georiënteerde voorgevel van het huis iets naar achter. Het eenlaags pand met zolder, onder een afgetopt zadeldak is vanuit een nagenoeg rechthoekige plattegrond in baksteen opgetrokken. Aan de achterzijde van het pand is het dakschild naar beneden verlengd. De gevelopeningen worden alle door een strekse boog ontlast. De symmetrisch ingedeelde voorgevel valt vooral op door het inzwenkende middengedeelte. De gevel telt zes door lisenen gescheiden traveeën met in het midden twee onder een stompe hoek geplaatste dubbele inrijdeuren onder een snijraam. Aan weerszijden komt een enkele deur voor onder een door roede ingedeeld bovenlicht. De hoeken van de gevel zijn bezet door een beluikt 3x(2+2)-ruits schuifraam. Een geprofileerde daklijst sluit de gevel af. Tegenover de voorgevel bevinden zich vier natuurstenen voederbakken, die, verplaatst, haaks op de voorgevel zijn gesteld. Drie van de vier voederbakken komen uit het koetshuis, de vierde, een kleiner exemplaar, is meegenomen van elders door de eigenaar. De linker zijgevel die de dienstwoning betreft heeft in de middenas twee vensters waarvan het linker raam een 2x(2+3)-ruits raam bevat en rechts een 3x(2+3)-ruits raam. Op de verdieping komen twee vierruits draairamen voor. Ter weerszijden van deze middenas bevindt zich begane gronds een deur onder bovenlicht. Geheel links is een 2x(1+2)-ruits raam geplaatst. De achtergevel is grotendeels vernieuwd waarin vier moderne ramen zijn gezaagd en is daarmee voor de rijksbescherming van ondergeschikt belang. De rechter zijgevel vertoont eveneens ernstige verstoringen in het metselwerk door dichtgezette inrijdeuren en de plaatsing van een modern ingezaagd venster. De ruimtelijke indeling van het koetshuis is sterk gewijzigd ten behoeve van gastenverblijf en is van ondergeschikt belang.

Description
COACH HOUSE annex SERVANT'S DWELLING, as part of the historical country estate Soeslo, dates from the 17th century. The coach house annex servant's dwelling is positioned to the southwest of the main house and lies somewhat set back in relation to the similarly oriented front facade of the house. The single-storey building with attic, under a hipped gabled roof is constructed in brick from a nearly rectangular floor plan. On the rear side of the building the roof slope is extended downwards. All gable openings are relieved by a segmental arch. The symmetrically arranged front facade is notable particularly for its recessed middle section. The facade contains six bays separated by pilasters with in the middle two double carriage entrance doors placed at an obtuse angle under a cut window. On either side there is a single door under a fanlight with glazing bars. The corners of the facade are fitted with a shuttered 3x(2+2)-pane sash window. A profiled cornice closes off the facade. Opposite the front facade are four natural stone feed troughs, which, relocated, are placed at right angles to the front facade. Three of the four feed troughs come from the coach house, the fourth, a smaller example, was brought from elsewhere by the owner. The left side facade which concerns the servant's dwelling has in the middle axis two windows of which the left window contains a 2x(2+3)-pane window and on the right a 3x(2+3)-pane window. On the upper storey there are two four-pane casement windows. On either side of this middle axis there is a door under fanlight on the ground floor. Furthest left a 2x(1+2)-pane window is placed. The rear facade has been largely renewed with four modern windows cut into it and is thus of secondary importance for national monument protection. The right side facade also shows serious disturbance in the brickwork from blocked carriage entrances and the insertion of a modern cut-in window. The spatial layout of the coach house has been significantly altered for guest accommodation and is of secondary importance.
Valuation
The 17th-century coach house as part of the historical country estate Soeslo, is of general importance because of its architectural and cultural-historical value:
- as a well-preserved example in its main design of a 17th-century coach house, with two feed troughs;
- of importance as an example of a development in the occupation history of the country estate Soeslo;
- because of its ensemble value as part of the country estate.
