Inleiding
In gemengde tuinstijl uitgevoerde TUINAANLEG bij het complex Nieuw Rhodenrijs met bijbehorende metselwerken en oprijlaan. De tuinaanleg dateert uit 1933 en is gesitueerd op een rechthoekig terrein tussen de Delftweg en Rijksweg Delft-Rotterdam.
N.B. In de loop der jaren is de tuin, hoewel in opzet nog duidelijk herkenbaar, op onderdelen gewijzigd: Op het achterterrein is een tennisbaan aangelegd. De oorspronkelijke witte Art Deco lantaarns zijn recent vervangen.
Omschrijving
De gemengde tuinaanleg in een halfopen (Engelse) landschapsstijl wordt afgewisseld met een geometrisch aangelegd gedeelte van rechthoekige ommuurde terrassen uitgevoerd in donkere handvormsteen met omliggende, ommuurde borders overgaand in open, door sloten en bosschages omzoomde, weidekavels met boomcoulissen en enkele fraaie solitairen. De noordelijk gesitueerde, in rode klinkers uitgevoerde, brede oprijlaan heeft voor het huis een laanbeplanting van kastanjebomen. Voor het huis wordt de laan over een sloot geleid door een zorgvuldig gemetselde brug met lage borstwering en blauw geglazuurde afdektegels en aan weerszijden lantaarns conform de rondboogbrug aan de straat. Tussen het toegangshek en de brug van de met klinkers bestraatte oprijlaan aan weerszijden twee losstaande gemetselde pijlers met blauw geglazuurde tegels en lantaarns. Ter hoogte van het landhuis bevindt zich rechts nog een derde pijler met lantaarn. De oprijlaan loopt via de poortdoorgang door over het landgoed en maakt een bocht nabij de perceelsgrens.

GARDEN LAYOUT executed in mixed garden style at the complex Nieuw Rhodenrijs with associated masonry and driveway. The garden layout dates from 1933 and is situated on a rectangular plot between the Delftweg and the main road Delft-Rotterdam.

Description
The mixed garden layout in a semi-open (English) landscape style is alternated with a geometrically arranged section of rectangular walled terraces executed in dark handmade brick with surrounding, walled borders transitioning into open, bordered by ditches and copses, meadow parcels with tree avenues and some fine specimen trees. The north-situated, executed in red clinker bricks, broad driveway has in front of the house a tree-lined avenue of chestnut trees. In front of the house the avenue is led over a ditch through a carefully masoned bridge with low parapet and blue glazed capping tiles and on both sides lanterns conforming to the round arch bridge on the street. Between the entrance gate and the bridge of the clinker brick paved driveway on both sides two separate masoned piers with blue glazed tiles and lanterns. At the level of the manor house on the right is still a third pier with lantern. The driveway runs via the gate passage through over the estate and makes a bend near the boundary.
