Inleiding
De hofboerderij is een U-vormig gebouw. De hof is open richting kasteel en voorhof, en aan die zijde door middel van een muur en hek afgesloten. De boerderij stamt uit het midden van de 17de eeuw en later. De tegen de noordelijke buitengevel van de hofboerderij aangebouwde moderne veestalling, zijnde een open ruimte onder lessenaardak voorzien van grijze oud-Hollandse pannen, die een bouwkundige eenheid vormt met de hofboerderij, is niet van waarde vanuit het oogpunt van monumentenzorg.
Omschrijving
HOFBOERDERIJ op U-vormige plattegrond, opgetrokken in baksteen met toepassing van natuursteen op hoeken, bij poorten enz. Hoofdzakelijk twee bouwlagen. Schild- en zadeldaken met gesmoorde pannen. Op de twee hoeken torens. De noordelijke toren is voorzien van een met leien gedekt dak en een dito dakopbouw. De zuidelijke toren fungeert als toegang tot de hof en is schuin geplaatst. Het leien dak heeft een uivormige bekroning. Gecementeerde zijgevel met imitatievoegen.
De gevels hebben een door de agrarische en woonfunctie gedicteerde invulling met poorten, vensters, luiken enz. De toegangspoort is aangezet met rustica om het landelijke karakter van het gebouw (ten opzichte van de weerbaarheid van de voorhoftorens en de elegantie van het hoofdgebouw) te benadrukken.
Waardering
De 17de-eeuwse HOFBOERDERIJ van Cortenbach is van algemeen belang vanwege:

Description
FARMSTEAD on a U-shaped ground plan, built in brick with the application of natural stone at corners, at gates etc. Mainly two storeys. Hipped and gabled roofs with pantiles. On the two corners towers. The northern tower is provided with a slate roof and a corresponding roof superstructure. The southern tower serves as access to the courtyard and is placed at an angle. The slate roof has a spout-shaped crown. Cemented side facade with imitation joints.
The facades have an infill dictated by the agricultural and residential function with gates, windows, shutters etc. The entrance gate is trimmed with rustication to emphasize the rural character of the building (in contrast to the defensibility of the forecourt towers and the elegance of the main building).
