Inleiding
De incomplete molen maakt onderdeel uit van het molencomplex "Fakkert", dat tevens een molenaarshuis bevat. De als stellingmolen uitgevoerde achtkante bovenkruier is in 1863 gebouwd en was ingericht als korenmolen. De molen heeft op dezelfde standplaats een voorganger gekend. De molen is vanaf 1930, toen de stelling instortte, in fasen onttakeld. Na de stelling volgde de verwijdering van de staart en het wiekenkruis. Tot in de jaren zestig was echter de kap met bovenas en de vanouds aanwezige rietbedekking nog aanwezig. De incomplete molen kreeg een functie als mechanische maalderij en als opslagruimte en maakt deel uit van een inmiddels stilgelegd mengvoederbedrijf. Ten noorden ervan zijn verschillende niet beschermingswaardige hoge bedrijfsgebouwen aangebouwd. Links van de incomplete molen staat nog de oude molenaarswoning. De incomplete molen domineert in belangrijke mate het dorpsbeeld.
Omschrijving
Het staande werk van de incomplete molen bestaat uit een gemetselde onderachtkant en het houten achtkant van een bovenkruier. Het houten bovenachtkant met twee bintlagen is licht geconstrueerd. De uit zes bouwlagen bestaande molen is sinds 1966 voorzien van een puntdak met achtkantig grondvlak.
Waardering
De incomplete molen is van belang vanwege de ouderdom, de molenbiotoop en de mogelijkheden tot herstel van de molen. Daarnaast heeft de incomplete molen bouwtechnisch historische waarden als herkenbaar en representatief relict van een houten achtkante korenmolen uit de tweede helft van de negentiende eeuw en cultuurhistorische waarden als onderdeel van de geschiedenis van de graanmaalderijen van Nederland en de industriële ontwikkeling van Overijssel en de plaatselijke geschiedenis. Tevens bezit de incomplete molen hoge cultuurhistorische ensemblewaarden in relatie tot de molenaarswoning en heeft het situationele waarden betreffende de historische gaafheid van de omgeving.

Introduction
The incomplete mill forms part of the mill complex "Fakkert", which also contains a miller's house. The eight-sided top-rotating mill executed as a post mill was built in 1863 and was fitted out as a grain mill. The mill has had a predecessor at the same location. The standing framework of the incomplete mill consists of a brick lower octagon and the wooden octagon of a top-rotating mill. The wooden upper octagon with two tie-beam layers is lightly constructed. The mill, consisting of six storeys, has been provided since 1966 with a pointed roof with an octagonal ground plan.
