Omschrijving
Omschrijving onderdeel 2: (bij Rijksstraatweg 127; op de bijbehorende kaart aangegeven met nr.2) HISTORISCHE TUIN- EN PARKAANLEG behorende tot de buitenplaats 't Velde.
Deels in structuur en deels in detail gaaf bewaarde aanleg in landschapsstijl uit het begin van de negentiende eeuw (zie opmetingskaart 1811) en in circa 1824 verder verfraaid naar een ontwerp toegeschreven aan tuinarchitect H. van Lunteren. In deze tijd is ook de gebogen oprijlaan vanaf de Rijksstraatweg aangelegd. De kern van de aanleg wordt in oorsprong gevormd door drie eilanden, bestaande uit het omgrachte huis geflankeerd door omgrachte, rechthoekige terreinen. In de negentiende eeuw zijn de eilanden in gebogen vormen vergraven en is het voorplein van het huis middels een dam aan het oostelijke eiland verbonden. Tevens worden de gemetselde keermuren rondom de huisplaats vervangen door een aarden talud. Het oostelijke eiland is beplant met enkele opvallende solitairen (rode beuk) en rhodondendrons, en heeft een rondlopende wandeling langs de waterkant. Het westelijke eiland was ingericht met nutstuinen, waarvan thans een klein deel van de boomgaard resteert en verder is aangelegd naar een modern ontwerp met een parkeerplaats; deze zijn voor de bescherming van ondergeschikt belang. Buiten de omgrachting aan de oostzijde is een rondgaande aanleg in landschapsstijl gesitueerd rondom een sierweide met aan de zuidkant een rechte laan uitkomend op een uitzichtsheuveltje. Ten zuiden van de laan een loofbos met waterpartij. De rechte laan buigt naar het noorden af om te vervolgen in een gebogen laan rondom het centrale weiland met slingerende waterlopen, die met de rivier de Berkel in verbinding staan. Ten noorden van het huis ligt een weide gestoffeerd met boomgroepen. In ca. 1700 werd de weg naar Vorden aangelegd als een gezichtslaan in de as van het koetshuis, deze laan zet zich aan de achterzijde voort als één van de dwarsassen van de aanleg van de Voorst, waardoor 't Velde werd opgenomen in de aanleg van De Voorst.
Waardering
De HISTORISCHE TUIN- EN PARKAANLEG behorende tot de buitenplaats 't Velde is van algemeen belang:
- vanwege het formele grachtenstelsel, dat in landschapsstijl vergraven is;
- vanwege de verfraaiing van het park in landschapsstijl naar een ontwerp toegeschreven aan H. van Lunteren (ca.1824);

Description of component 2: (at Rijksstraatweg 127; indicated on the attached map with no.2) HISTORIC GARDEN AND PARK LAYOUT belonging to the country estate 't Velde.
Partly in structure and partly in detail well-preserved layout in the landscape style from the beginning of the nineteenth century (see survey map 1811) and further embellished around 1824 according to a design attributed to landscape architect H. van Lunteren. During this period the curved access drive from the Rijksstraatweg was also laid out. The core of the layout is originally formed by three islands, consisting of the moated house flanked by moated rectangular plots. In the nineteenth century the islands were re-excavated in curved forms and the forecourt of the house was connected to the eastern island by means of a causeway. Likewise the masonry retaining walls around the house plot were replaced by an earth embankment. The eastern island is planted with some striking specimen trees (copper beech) and rhododendrons, and has a path running around the waterside. The western island was laid out with utility gardens, of which now only a small part of the orchard remains and has otherwise been laid out according to a modern design with a car park; these are of secondary importance for the protection. Outside the moat on the east side a landscape-style layout is situated around a decorative meadow with a straight avenue on the south side leading to a viewing mound. South of the avenue a deciduous wood with a water feature. The straight avenue curves towards the north to continue in a curved avenue around the central meadow with meandering watercourses, which are connected to the Berkel river. North of the house lies a meadow furnished with tree groups. Around 1700 the road to Vorden was laid out as a sight-line avenue on the axis of the coach house, this avenue continues on the rear side as one of the cross-axes of the layout of De Voorst, whereby 't Velde was incorporated into the layout of De Voorst.
Valuation
The HISTORIC GARDEN AND PARK LAYOUT belonging to the country estate 't Velde is of general importance:
- on account of the formal ditch system, which was re-excavated in landscape style;
- on account of the embellishment of the park in landscape style according to a design attributed to H. van Lunteren (circa 1824);
- on account of the functional-spatial coherence with the other components of the country estate.
