Omschrijving onderdeel 2: PARKAANLEG.
Inleiding
PARKAANLEG als onderdeel van de historische buitenplaats 'het Medler', bestaande uit een lange oprijlaan, de dwarslaan ten westen van het hoofdgebouw, de gebogen rode beukenlaan, de huisplaats en het grachtenstelsel met singels ten oosten van het huis, waarbinnen enige weidepercelen.
Omschrijving
De lange (meer dan 700m.) rechte oprijlaan, XVIII, loopt vanaf de Ruurloseweg tot aan de dam over de gracht, in de centrale as van het huis; de laan met oude klinkerbestrating heeft een zeer breed profiel met aan weerszijden een dubbele rij eiken in een brede grasberm.
Het huiseiland, waarop het huis, bijgebouwen, prieel, tuinhekken en tuinsieraden, wordt omgeven door een min of meer ronde gracht met een uitstulping naar de oostzijde waar hij aansluit op het rechthoekige grachtenstelsel. Voor het huis het symmetrische voorplein met enkele monumentale rode beuken en een rondlopend klinkerpad, waarbinnen een rond grasveld met een loden tuinvaas (onderdeel 12). De klinkerbestrating sluit aan op de bordestrap; links en rechts van het huis eenvoudige rozen- en bloementuinen, van het voorplein gescheiden door laag ijzeren hekwerk (onderdeel 11). Nabij het bouwhuis een eenvoudige erfinrichting met klinkerbestratingen en grasvelden. Een dam met daarop een hekwerk geeft toegang tot een van de twee oostelijke eilanden. Aan de westzijde van het eiland wordt het water van de gracht afgevoerd via een bakstenen duiker.
Het grachtenstelsel ten oosten van het huiseiland, middeleeuws in oorsprong, bestaat uit een min of meer rechthoekige gracht met een middengracht, zodat er twee ong. even grote eilanden ontstaan. Op het zuidelijke restanten van fruitbomen. Op de noordelijke bevindt zich, binnen een vrijwel vierkant verlopende ruime gracht, een rond tot ovaalachtig graseilandje, waarschijnlijk de plaats van een middeleeuwse voorloper van het huidige Medler. De beukenlaan omsluit het direct achter het huis gelegen weiland. Aan weerszijden van de westelijke dwarslaan eikenbomen.

De PARKAANLEG als onderdeel van de historische buitenplaats Het Medler is van algemeen belang:

Introduction
PARK LAYOUT as a component of the historic country estate 'Het Medler', consisting of a long approach road, the cross road to the west of the main building, the curved red beech avenue, the house yard and the moat system with waterways to the east of the house, within which some pasture parcels.
Description
The long (more than 700m.) straight approach road, 18th century, runs from the Ruurloseweg to the dam over the moat, in the central axis of the house; the road with old brick paving has a very broad profile with on either side a double row of oaks in a wide grass verge.
The house island, on which the house, outbuildings, shelter, garden gates and garden ornaments are located, is surrounded by a more or less circular moat with a bulge to the east side where it connects to the rectangular moat system. In front of the house the symmetrical forecourt with some monumental red beeches and a surrounding brick path, within which a round lawn with a lead garden vase (component 12). The brick paving connects to the staircase; to the left and right of the house simple rose and flower gardens, separated from the forecourt by low iron fencing (component 11). Near the outbuilding a simple yard layout with brick paving and lawns. A dam with fencing on it provides access to one of the two eastern islands. On the west side of the island the water from the moat is drained via a brick culvert.
The moat system to the east of the house island, medieval in origin, consists of a more or less rectangular moat with a central moat, thus creating two roughly equal-sized islands. On the southern, remains of fruit trees. On the northern, within a roughly square-shaped spacious moat, a round to oval-shaped grass island, probably the location of a medieval predecessor of the current Medler. The moat system was formerly in direct connection with the Baakse brook. Now the brook is approximately 200m. to the north.
On the outside of the moat runs a waterway with oaks. This waterway transitions in the northwest to a curved avenue with red beeches, which connects to the approach road at the entrance gate. The beech avenue encloses the pasture immediately behind the house. Oaks line either side of the western cross road.
