Omschrijving complexonderdeel 2
De over het zuidelijk sluishoofd geplaatste DUBBELE OPHAALBRUG, vervaardigd uit geklonken staal. In de zwikken van de dwarsliggers bevinden zich uitsparingen. De contragewichten worden gedragen door vakwerkliggers. Aan de noordzijde van de rijbaan bevindt zich een gietijzeren hekwerk met geprofileerde, van dennenappels voorziene balusters. De hydraulische aandrijving, het bedieningshuis en de slagboom zijn niet oorspronkelijk en vallen buiten de bescherming.
Waardering complexonderdeel 2
De verkeersbrug is van algemeen belang vanwege de architectuurhistorische waarde als gaaf voorbeeld van een eind l9de-eeuwse dubbele ophaalbrug alsmede vanwege het materiaalgebruik. De brug is tevens van ensemblewaarde in relatie tot de overige onderdelen van het complex.

Description of complex component 2
The DOUBLE BASCULE BRIDGE placed over the southern lock head, manufactured from riveted steel. In the spandrels of the cross beams are recesses. The counterweights are supported by lattice girders. On the north side of the roadway is a cast-iron fence with profiled balusters fitted with pine cones. The hydraulic drive, the operating house and the boom gate are not original and fall outside the protection.
Valuation of complex component 2
The traffic bridge is of general importance on account of its architectural-historical value as an intact example of a late 19th-century double bascule bridge as well as on account of its use of materials. The bridge is furthermore of ensemble value in relation to the other components of the complex.
