Inleiding
KEUTERIJBOERDERIJ (omstreeks 1900), met STOOKHUT en SCHUUR, gelegen op ruime afstand van de openbare weg. Het erf wordt aan de voorzijde afgesloten door een haag. Samen met de beschermde keuterij Schutsweg 40 en de als archeologisch monument beschermde hunebedden D3 en D4 ,vormt Schutsweg 42 een cultuurhistorisch bijzonder ensemble dat is gelegen in een landschappelijk bijzonder gebied dat ligt aan de rand van het Belvedere-gebied Eelde-Paterswolde.
Omschrijving
KEUTERBOERDERIJ, bestaande uit een woongedeelte en een stalgedeelte met krimp. Het geheel is opgetrokken uit rode baksteen en wordt gedekt door een driezijdig met pannen belegd aan de achterzijde even afgewolfd zadeldak. Topschoorsteen; staafankers; windveren. In het woongedeelte H-vensters met middenstijl; in de geveltop twee zoldervensters met middenstijl; zij-ingang. In het stalgedeelte ijzeren en houten stalramen en opgeklampte deuren. INTERIEUR. De plattegrond van het woon- en stalgedeelte, met ankerbalkgebint op stiepen, is nog origineel. In de woonkamer zijn nog de oorspronkelijke plafondbetimmering, de bedstedenwand en het drankkastje bewaard. STOOKHOK. Op het erf staat terzijde van de boerderij een stookhok, opgetrokken uit rode baksteen en gedekt door een pannengedekt zadeldakje; windveren; schoorsteen; opgeklampte deur; stalraampjes. VARKENSSTAL. Achter de stal staat, parallel aan de achtergevel, een varkensstal, opgetrokken uit rode baksteen en gedekt door een met pannen belegd zadeldak tussen houten topgevels; windveren.

KEUTERBOERDERIJ met STOOKHOK en VARKENSSCHUUR is van algemeen belang:

SMALL HOLDING FARMSTEAD (circa 1900), with HEATING HUT and BARN, situated at a considerable distance from the public road. The farmyard is enclosed at the front by a hedge. Together with the protected small holding at Schutsweg 40 and the megalithic monuments D3 and D4 protected as archaeological monuments, Schutsweg 42 forms a culturally historically exceptional ensemble situated in a landscape of particular interest at the edge of the Belvedere area of Eelde-Paterswolde.
Description
SMALL HOLDING FARMSTEAD, consisting of a residential section and a cattle section with shrinkage. The whole is constructed of red brick and is covered by a three-sided hipped gabled roof tiled with pantiles, similarly rounded at the rear. Ridge chimney; staple anchors; wind braces. In the residential section H-windows with central mullion; in the gable top two attic windows with central mullion; side entrance. In the cattle section iron and wooden cattle windows and clamp-fixed doors. INTERIOR. The floor plan of the residential and cattle section, with anchor beam trusses on posts, is still original. In the living room the original ceiling boarding, the bed wall and the drinks cabinet are preserved. HEATING HUT. On the farmyard stands, to the side of the farmstead, a heating hut, constructed of red brick and covered by a pantile-covered gabled roof; wind braces; chimney; clamp-fixed door; cattle windows. PIGSTY. Behind the cattle section stands, parallel to the rear gable, a pigsty, constructed of red brick and covered by a gabled roof tiled with pantiles between wooden gable tops; wind braces.
