Inleiding
Tegenover het H. Hartklooster in Reuver staat een Heilig Hartbeeld uit 1925. Het beeld werd ontworpen door de beeldhouwer Auguste Falise en gegoten te Brussel. De toegepaste bouwstijl is traditionalistisch.
Omschrijving
Bronzen standbeeld ter herdenking van het gouden priesterjubileum van oud-pastoor Jacques Vrancken, 13 maart 1925, voorstellend Christus Koning. Tekst dienaangaande op de achterzijde van de sokkel. Beeld vervaardigd door Auguste Falise 1925, gegoten door de Fonderie Nationale des Bronzes te Brussel. H. Hartbeeld van Christus met mantel, zegenend met de rechterhand, met de linkerhand wijzend op het H. Hart. Samengestelde stenen sokkel van grijze Namense steen, met traptreden aan vier zijden en plantenbakken op de hoeken.
Aan de voorzijde van de sokkel de tekst "Christus Koning".
Het basement is afkomstig uit de werkplaats van steenhouwer Stienon te Roermond. Het beeld is gesigneerd. Op het basement staat de naam van de steenhouwer.
Aan de achterzijde een inscriptie: "Ter herinnering aan het priesterfeest van oud-pastoor J. Vrancken".
Waardering
Het heilig Hartbeeld bezit cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een culturele, geestelijke en typologische ontwikkeling. De architectuurhistorische waarde wordt bepaald door esthetische kwaliteiten die onder meer tot uitdrukking komen in het gevarieerde materiaalgebruik en als een van de zeldzame werken in Limburg van beeldhouwer Auguste Falise uit Brussel. The basement originates from the workshop of stonemason Stienon of Roermond. The statue is signed. On the basement stands the name of the stonemason.
