Grafmonument op het achter de reeds eerder beschermde Heilige Lambertuskerk gelegen KERKHOF.
Omschrijving
Hardstenen plaat waarop aan het hoofdeinde een witmarmeren neogotische opstand met driedelige gekanteelde bekroning en kruis met vierpassen. In de opstand ondiepe nis met driepas, kielboog en gebladerte. Omgeven door smeedijzeren hekwerk. De tekst op de opstand luidt: 'Hier ligt begraven/de edelachtbare heer/Josephus van Iersel/Oud-Burgemeester/weduwnaar van mevrouw/Maria Francisca/Johanna van Oorschot/Hij werd geboren/te Udenhout/7 october 1831 en/overleed aldaar/9 november 1901/zijne gedachtenis zal/niet vergaan/en de gemeente zal zijnen lof verkondigen/Eccl. XXXIX: 13,14/Hij Ruste in Vrede'. Maker: L. Petit, Tilburg.

Het complex is van algemeen belang. Hardstone slab bearing at the head end a white marble neo-gothic superstructure with three-part crenellated crown and cross with quatrefoils. In the superstructure shallow niche with trefoil, pointed arch and foliage. Surrounded by wrought iron fencing. The text on the superstructure reads: 'Here lies buried/the honourable gentleman/Josephus van Iersel/Former Mayor/widower of madam/Maria Francisca/Johanna van Oorschot/He was born/in Udenhout/7 October 1831 and/died there/9 November 1901/his memory shall/not perish/and the municipality shall proclaim his praise/Eccl. Valuation
The complex is of general importance. It has cultural-historical value as testimony to Catholic self-consciousness and as an expression of the typological development of church, cemetery and vicarage in the middle of the previous century.
