Grafmonument op het achter de reeds eerder beschermde Heilige Lambertuskerk gelegen KERKHOF.
Omschrijving
Granieten grafmonument met liggende tombe, waarop aan de voorzijde de Brabantse leeuw. Aan het hoofdeinde een opstand met de tekst PAX en in de op twee penanten rustende deksteen de Alpha en Omega. In de nis in marmer uitgevoerd kruis, IHS-monogram en doornenkroon. De tekst op de tombe luidt: 'Hier rust/in Christus/de edelgrootachtbare Heer/H./W.A. van Heeswijk/Burgemeester van Udenhout/Lid des Prov. Staten/Ridder i.d. Orde v.h. H. Graf/Gegiftigd m.h. kruis Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice/geb. te Vught 4 april 1868/Overl. te Udenhout/16 november 1921/ en zijne echtgenoote/Mevrouw/M.M. van Heeswijk-van Dijk/geboren te Teteringen/10 april 1869/Overl. te Udenhout 7 juni 1920'. Het complex is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als getuigenis van het katholieke zelfbewustzijn en als uitdrukking van detypologische ontwikkeling van kerk, kerkhof en pastoorswoning in het midden van de vorige eeuw. Granite funerary monument with lying tomb, bearing on the front the Brabant lion. At the head end a superstructure with the text PAX and in the coping stone resting on two corbels the Alpha and Omega. In the niche executed in marble a cross, IHS monogram and crown of thorns. The text on the tomb reads: 'Here rests/in Christ/the noble and honourable Lord/H./W.A. van Heeswijk/Mayor of Udenhout/Member of the Provincial States/Knight in the Order of the Holy Sepulchre/Granted with the cross Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice/born in Vught 4 April 1868/Died in Udenhout/16 November 1921/ and his wife/Madam/M.M. van Heeswijk-van Dijk/born in Teteringen/10 April 1869/Died in Udenhout 7 June 1920'. Valuation
The complex is of general importance. It has cultural-historical value as testimony to Catholic self-consciousness and as an expression of the typological development of church, cemetery and vicarage in the middle of the previous century. It is a good example of the austere style in the work of stonemason Petit and has ensemble values as part of a group, together with the separately protected convent, which testifies to the development of Catholic building. The whole has been well preserved and is rare as a 'Catholic' building group.
