Inleiding
Ten noordoosten van de voormalige mouterij staat, op het bedrijfsterrein van de brouwerij De Drie Hoefijzers (anno 2003: Interbrew) de FABRIEKSSCHOORSTEEN, daterende uit omstreeks 1905.
Omschrijving
De hoge schoorsteen staat op een gemetselde kubusvormige sokkel met spaarvelden in het metselwerk. Het bouwwerk verjongt naar boven en is opgetrokken uit radiaalstenen. Het metselwerk wordt bijeengehouden door een groot aantal gesmede spatringen. In het metselwerk zijn verschillende ornamenten in metselsteen met een afwijkende kleur (geel tegen een rood fond) aangebracht. Tussen de ornamentale lijsten zijn onder meer drie hoefijzers afgebeeld. De schoorsteen is ingekort.
Waardering
De schoorsteen is van algemeen belang want hij vormt als functioneel element - mede gezien de situering naast de machinekamer - en vanwege zijn historische en stedenbouwkundige waarde een belangrijk onderdeel van het complex. Tevens is de schoorsteen van belang vanwege materiaalgebruik en ornamentiek (onder andere door de uitbeelding van de Drie Hoefijzers).

Northeast of the former malthouse, on the industrial site of the brewery De Drie Hoefijzers (as of 2003: Interbrew) stands the FACTORY CHIMNEY, dating from around 1905.
Description
The tall chimney stands on a masonry cubic plinth with sparing fields in the masonry. The structure tapers towards the top and is built from radial bricks. The masonry is held together by a large number of wrought metal bands. Various ornaments in masonry brick of a contrasting colour (yellow against a red ground) have been incorporated into the masonry. Among the ornamental mouldings, three horseshoes are depicted. The chimney has been shortened.
Valuation
The chimney is of general importance as it forms - as a functional element and given its location next to the machine room - and on account of its historical and urban design value an important component of the complex. Additionally, the chimney is of significance on account of its material use and ornamentation (including the depiction of the Drie Hoefijzers).
