Inleiding
INCOMPLETE MOLEN. De als beltmolen uitgevoerde achtkante bovenkruier met de naam 'De Bataaf' is in 1801 door lidmaten van de Nederlandse Hervormde Kerk gebouwd en was ingericht als korenmolen. De molen is in 1964 onttakeld, waarbij het gevlucht, de staart, de bovenas en het grootste deel van het binnenwerk werden verwijderd. De belt werd afgegraven. De incomplete molen kreeg een functie in een mechanisch productiebedrijf als silo- en opslagruimte en is tot op heden als zodanig in gebruik. De incomplete molen ligt ingebouwd op een fabrieksterrein. Naast de incomplete molen staan verschillende niet beschermenswaardige hoge silo's en loodsen. De incomplete molen is zichtbaar in een open omgeving.
Omschrijving
Het staande werk van de incomplete molen bestaat uit het gemetselde bakstenen onderachtkant, het eikenhouten achtkant en de eikenhouten kap van een bovenkruier. De belt is vervangen door diverse lage aanbouwen. De uit vijf bouwlagen bestaande incomplete molen is bekleed met hout waarover een bitumineuze dakbedekking. De kap kruit op een houten rollenkruiwerk met houten rollen en is bekleed met hout waarover een bitumineuze dakbedekking. In het achtkant zijn voor de Achterhoek kenmerkende verticaal uitgebouwde ramen geplaatst.
Waardering
De incomplete molen is van algemeen belang:
- vanwege bouwtechnisch historische waarden als herkenbaar en representatief relict van een korenmolen uit het begin van de 19e eeuw die in de tweede helft van de 20e eeuw werd omgebouwd tot een machinaal productiebedrijf;

INCOMPLETE MILL. The eight-sided top-drive mill executed as a belt mill with the name 'De Bataaf' was built in 1801 by members of the Dutch Reformed Church and was fitted out as a grain mill.
