Inleiding onderdeel 9.
De bij de historische buitenplaats Clingendael behorende TUINMUUR is een restant van het in oorsprong 17de-eeuwse boerderijcomplex op Clingendael (zie onderdeel 7). De kenmerken van de muur zijn Traditioneel-ambachtelijk met een op de functie toegespitst materiaalgebruik en detaillering.
Omschrijving
De in rode baksteen opgetrokken tuinmuur is aan de oostelijke lange zijde verstevigd door middel van zware steunberen, waartussen de zachte fruitsoorten beschutting vonden. De bovenkant van de muur is afgedekt met schuin liggende Hollandse pannen. De muur wordt aan het zuidelijke einde gekenmerkt door een westwaartse buiging.
Waardering
De tuinmuur is van algemeen belang vanwege de architectuurhistorische-, cultuurhistorische- en de ensemblewaarde:
- als een bijzonder onderdeel van een boerderij op één der belangrijkste 17de-eeuwse buitenplaatsen in de regio;
- door de functionele, visuele en ruimtelijke samenhang van de met de boerderij op de buitenplaats Clingendael;

The GARDEN WALL belonging to the historic country estate Clingendael is a remnant of the originally 17th-century farmyard complex at Clingendael (see component 7). The characteristics of the wall are Craft-Traditional with a material use and detailing adapted to its function.
Description
The garden wall, constructed of red brick, is reinforced on the eastern long side by means of heavy buttresses, between which soft fruit species found shelter. The top of the wall is covered with angled Dutch roof tiles. The wall is characterised at the southern end by a westward bend.
Valuation
The garden wall is of general importance because of its architectural-historical, cultural-historical and ensemble value:
- as a particular component of a farmyard on one of the most important 17th-century country estates in the region;
- through the functional, visual and spatial relationship of the farmyard on the country estate Clingendael;
