Inleiding onderdeel 8.
De bij de historische buitenplaats Clingendael behorende vrijstaande 19de-eeuwse SCHUUR is een restant van het in oorsprong 17de-eeuwse boerderijcomplex op Clingendael (zie onderdeel 7). De schuur is opgetrokken in een Ambachtelijk-traditionele bouwtrant, welke zich kenmerkt door een op de functie toegespitst materiaalgebruik en detaillering. De schuur staat dwars op de boerderij en de oprijlaan en is met de voorste kopgevel georiënteerd op het hoofdgebouw en maakt deel uit van een vrijwel rechthoekig erf nabij het einde van het rechte deel van de oprijlaan. De schuur is door middel van een tussenlid verbonden met een er dwars opstaande houten schuur voor paarden en jongvee, die vanwege de vrij recente bouwdatum van ondergeschikt belang is voor de bescherming.
Omschrijving
De vanuit een rechthoekige plattegrond in gepleisterde baksteen met zwart geschilderde plint opgetrokken schuur staat onder een met rode pannen gedekt zadeldak met uitkragende dakrand met windveren en boeiboorden. De dakgoten boven de langsgevels rusten op smeedijzeren beugels. De oostelijke kopgevel is symmetrisch met een uit een boven- en een onderdeur samengestelde rechtgesloten deur en een zolderluik onder een tweedelig bovenlicht. De noordelijke langsgevel bevat twee rondboogvensters met roedenverdeling in de stalen ramen. Tegen de westelijke kopgevel staat een aanbouw die voor de bescherming van ondergeschikt belang is. In de zuidelijke langsgevel staat rechts een rechtgesloten enkele deur en in het midden een stel openslaande, uit boven- en onderdeuren samengestelde inrijdeuren.
Waardering
De 19de-eeuwse schuur is van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuurhistorische en de ensemblewaarde:
- door de ouderdom, de typologische herkenbaarheid en de redelijke mate van gaafheid van het exterieur;

The freestanding 19th-century BARN belonging to the historic country estate Clingendael is a remnant of the originally 17th-century farmyard complex at Clingendael (see component 7). The barn is constructed in a Craftsman-traditional building manner, which is characterized by material use and detailing tailored to the function. The barn stands transversely to the farmhouse and the approach drive and is oriented with its front gable to the main building and forms part of an almost rectangular farmyard near the end of the straight section of the approach drive. The barn is connected by means of a connecting element to a wooden barn for horses and young cattle standing transversely to it, which is of secondary importance for the protection because of its relatively recent construction date.
Description
The barn, drawn up from a rectangular ground plan in plastered brick with black-painted base, stands under a gabled roof covered with red tiles with projecting roof edge with wind braces and soffit boards. The gutters above the long facades rest on wrought-iron brackets. The eastern gable is symmetrical with a door composed of an upper and a lower door that is straight-headed and a hatch to the attic under a two-part fanlight. The northern long facade contains two round-arch windows with glazing bars in the steel frames. Against the western gable stands an extension which is of secondary importance for the protection. In the southern long facade stand a single straight-headed door on the right and in the middle a pair of hinged entrance doors composed of upper and lower doors.
Valuation
The 19th-century barn is of general importance because of its cultural-historical and ensemble value:
- by the age, the typological recognizability and the reasonable degree of integrity of the exterior;
- as a spatial and functional component of the farmyard complex, which in turn forms part of one of the most important 17th-century country estates in the region;
- by the particular location at the edge of the farm.
