Inleiding.
WOONHUIS, gebouwd in 1927 in opdracht van C. Van Nieuwkuijk in de stijl van de Amsterdamse School.
Omschrijving.
Tweelaags woonhuis op een rechthoekige plattegrond onder een schilddak waarvan de nok evenwijdig aan de straat loopt. Het dak is gedekt met geglazuurde Tuile-du-Nordpannen. Het dak is voorzien van een fors overstek op geprofileerde klossen. In de bakstenen gevels zijn zwarte bakstenen lijsten verwerkt. Om de portiek is in zwart een boog in het metselwerk gemaakt. De deur, met een rondboog bovenlicht gevuld met glas-in-lood, bevindt zich in het midden van de gevel in een trapsgewijs terugspringend rondboogportiek. Voor de deur ligt een trapje met hardstenen dekplaten. Rechts van deze deur bevindt zich een raam, het bovenlicht is gevuld met glas-in-lood en het heeft een rolluik. Links van de deur een erker met afgeschuinde zijden. In de bovenlichten van de ramen is glas-in-lood met geometrische figuren aangebracht. Boven de erker een balkon met opengewerkte bakstenen balustrade. Het balkon heeft openslaande deuren. Een brede dakkapel bekroont het midden van de gevel. De rechterzijgevel heeft een halfvenster en op de verdieping enkele openslaande ramen.
Achter een blokvormige aanbouw, nlaags onder plat dak. De achtergevel is voorzien van een groot raam en terras. Boven de uitbouw een raam. Boven de deur (in het verlengde van de voordeur) een groot glas-in-loodraam.
In het interieur is de oorspronkelijke indeling bewaard gebleven. Via een centraal gelegen ingang bereikt men een hal en aansluitend een gang. Achteraan in de gang, aan de linkerkant de trap. Rechts van de gang een grote rechthoekige kamer (voormalige kamer-en-suite). Links aan de voorzijde van het huis een kleine kamer met houten vloer en schouw. Daaraangrenzend een keuken en bijkeuken.
Waardering.
Het huis is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorisch belang als uitdrukking van een sociaal-economische en typologische ontwikkeling. Het is van belang wegens de gaafheid van ex- en interieur.

Two-storey residence on a rectangular ground plan under a hipped roof with the ridge running parallel to the street. The roof is covered with glazed Tuile-du-Nord tiles. The roof is provided with a substantial overhang on profiled brackets. In the brick facades black brick bands are incorporated. Around the porch a round arch is made in black in the brickwork. The door, with a round arch fanlight filled with stained glass, is located in the middle of the facade in a stepped-back round arch porch. In front of the door is a small staircase with hard-stone coping plates. To the right of this door is a window, the fanlight is filled with stained glass and it has a roller shutter. To the left of the door a bay window with bevelled sides. In the fanlights of the windows stained glass with geometric figures is incorporated. Above the bay window a balcony with openwork brick balustrade. The balcony has French doors. A wide roof dormer crowns the middle of the facade. The right side gable has a half-window and on the first floor several French windows.
Behind a block-shaped extension, single-storey under flat roof. The rear facade is provided with a large window and terrace. Above the extension a window. Above the door (in line with the front door) a large stained-glass window.
In the interior the original layout has been preserved. Via a centrally located entrance one reaches a hall and adjoining a corridor. At the rear of the corridor, on the left side the staircase. To the right of the corridor a large rectangular room (former enfilade room). To the left at the front of the house a small room with wooden floor and fireplace. Adjacent to it a kitchen and scullery.
Valuation.
The house is of general interest. It has cultural-historical importance as an expression of a socio-economic and typological development. It is important owing to the integrity of exterior and interior.
