Inleiding
GRAF van de familie Mignot-Bouvy, gemaakt door beeldhouwer Manders uit Eindhoven in Neo-renaissance vormen.
Omschrijving
Het graf is geheel uitgevoerd in natuursteen en bestaat uit een kleine sarcofaag op een plateau, omgeven door een zestal vierkante palen bekroond door toortsen en urnen. Deze palen zijn naar achteren toe oplopend in hoogte. Tussen de palen is een metalen ketting gehangen.
Op de deksel van de sarcofaag is het opschrift: RUSTPLAATS/VAN/JOANNA MARIA MIGNOT/GEB. BOUVY/OVERL. 7 FEB. 1913/WEGE MIJ GOD OP EEN/RECHTVAARDIGE WEEGSCHAAL/EN HIJ ZAL MIJNEN EENVOUD/ERKENNEN/ADRIAN PAUL MIGNOT/GEBOREN 19 SEPTEMBER 1844/TE CHARLESTON SOUTH CAROLINA/USA/OVERLEDEN 3 NOVEMBER 1923 aangebracht.
Achter de sarcofaag is op een rechtopstaande steen een afbeelding van twee handen aanwezig. Daarboven is een treurende figuur op een stoel afgebeeld.
Het geheel wordt bekroond door een schelpvormige nis en is geplaatst in een classicistische omlijsting van gepolijste zuilen met kapitelen met leliemotieven en een fronton met loofwerk. Op het fronton is een kruis met draperie aangebracht.
Waardering
Het graf is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een sociale en geestelijke ontwikkeling, in het bijzonder de ontwikkeling van de katholieke grafcultuur, het is tevens van belang voor de typologische ontwikkeling van het grafmonument. Het heeft architectuur, en kunsthistorisch belang als voorbeeld van het werk van de architect Van Ballaer. Description
The grave is entirely executed in natural stone and consists of a small sarcophagus on a platform, surrounded by six square posts crowned with torches and urns. These posts increase in height towards the rear. A metal chain is hung between the posts.
