Omschrijving
Inleiding.
In het verlengde van en aansluitend aan het woonhuis ligt, eveneens met de nokrichting loodrecht op de Van der Voortweg, een langgerekt FABRIEKSGEBOUW. Aan de rechtergevel grenst een ijzeren sierhek dat vanaf een oprit met klinkerbestrating toegang verleent tot een binnenplaats met dito bestrating. Het gebouw dateert uit omstreeks 1850 en is opgetrokken in een stijl die invloeden vertoont van de Ambachtelijk-traditionele bouwtrant. De gevels zijn gesausd. In 1982 werd het pand inwendig enigszins verbouwd, hetgeen ook tot enkele wijzigingen in de achtergevel heeft geleid. Ramen en deuren zijn vernieuwd.
Omschrijving.
Het langgerekte gebouw heeft een rechthoekige plattegrond en telt twee bouwlagen met een zolder onder een met oud-Hollandse pannen gedekt schilddak. De bakstenen gevels worden geleed door een platte cordonlijst die de verdieping markeert. Het pand is veertien traveen lang en twee traveen breed. Aan de dakvoet een bakgoot. Onderlangs de langsgevels een geteerde plint met in beide bouwlagen reeksen vensters onder licht getoogde strekken en met hardstenen lekdorpels. Centraal in de voorgevel aan de fabrieksstraat op de verdieping een laadluik onder een met pannen gedekte zadeldakvormige windkast. In de rechtergevel zit op de verdieping een venster zoals voornoemd in de langsgevels. De linkergevel grenst grotendeels aan het woonhuis. Rechts hierin nog een driedelig venster met geprofileerde stucwerkomlijsting met kuifstuk zoals in de direkteurswoning.
Opvallend element in het inwendige is het gebruik van spoorwegrails als plafondbalk.
Waardering.
Het object is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als een bijzondere uitdrukking van de ontwikkeling van de linnennijverheid en de opkomst van wasserijen. Bovendien is het object in technisch en typologisch opzicht van industrieel-archeologisch belang. Het object heeft ensemblewaarden als essentieel onderdeel van een groter geheel, dat cultuurhistorisch van nationaal belang is. Verder heeft het object bijzondere betekenis wegens de markante functionele situering aan het Smalwater en de historisch-ruimtelijke relatie hiermee. Tot slot is het object als restant van de wasserij- en linnennijverheid te Boxtel van belang vanwege de typologische zeldzaamheid voor Boxtel en daarbuiten.

Introduction.
In line with and adjoining the dwelling house is, likewise with the ridge direction perpendicular to the Van der Voortweg, an elongated FACTORY BUILDING. To the right gable adjoins an iron ornamental fence which from an approach with brick paving provides access to a courtyard with the same paving. The building dates from around 1850 and is built in a style showing influences of the Artisanal-traditional style. The gables are rendered. In 1982 the building was internally somewhat altered, which also led to some changes in the rear gable. Windows and doors have been renewed.
Description.
The elongated building has a rectangular plan and comprises two storeys with a loft under a hipped roof covered with old Dutch tiles. The brick gables are articulated by a flat string course marking the storey. The building is fourteen bays long and two bays wide. At the eaves a gutter. Below the long gables a tarred plinth with in both storeys rows of windows under slightly arched lintels and with stone drip moulds. Centrally in the front gable facing the factory street on the first floor a loading hatch under a saddle-roof-shaped windlass covered with tiles. In the right gable on the first floor a window as mentioned in the long gables. The left gable adjoins the dwelling house for the most part. To the right in this a three-part window with moulded stucco framing with a plank moulding as in the director's house.
A striking element in the interior is the use of railway rails as ceiling beams.
Valuation.
The building is of general importance. It has cultural-historical value as a particular expression of the development of the linen industry and the rise of laundries. Moreover, the building is of importance from a technical and typological perspective in industrial archaeology. The building has ensemble values as an essential part of a larger whole which is of national cultural-historical importance. Furthermore, the building has special significance because of its striking functional situation on the Smalwater and the historical-spatial relationship with it. Finally, the building as a remnant of the laundry and linen industry in Boxtel is important because of the typological rarity for Boxtel and beyond.
