Inleiding.
FABRIEKSHAL onderdeel van het complex dakpannenfabriek De Valk en gebouwd in het eerste kwart van de twintigste eeuw. De hal is haaks op de Aasterbergweg gelegen en sluit met de westgevel tegen de andere beschermde fabriekshal aan. Aan de oostgevel grenst het tussenlid waarmee de hal met de woning en het latere kantoorgebouw in verbinding staat. De hal heeft in verband met het gewijzigde gebruik diverse wijzigingen ondergaan maar is in hoofdvorm en karakter herkenbaar bewaard gebleven.
Omschrijving.
De fabriekshal is opgetrokken als enkelvoudige langshal op een rechthoekig grondplan, afgedekt met een zadeldak met de nokrichting haaks op de Aasterbergweg. De schilden met bescheiden overstek aan voor- en achterzijde zijn belegd met rode pannen en voorzien van enkele kleine dakramen. De afwatering vindt plaats via mastgoten en bakgoten en het dak is afgezet met windveren. De nok heeft een schoorsteen. De gevels zijn opgetrokken in rode baksteen in kruisverband en voorzien van segmentboogvormig afgesloten vensters met oorspronkelijk een twaalfruits gietijzeren roedenindeling en baksteen lekdorpel. De zuidelijke kopgevel aan de Aasterbergweg heeft hoeklisenen. In de rechter gevelhelft ter plaatse van een inpandig transformatorhuis twee transformatordeuren. Links ervan een dichtgemetseld venster zoals beschreven. In de tweede bouwlaag twee, en in de geveltop één venster zoals beschreven. De noordelijke eindgevel is blind. De westgevel heeft een regelmatige gevelindeling in drie bouwlagen met vensters zoals beschreven waarvan er diverse zijn dichtgemetseld of dichtgeverfd. In de gevel bevinden zich drie, in hun huidige uitvoering niet oorspronkelijke rechthoekige poorten. Rechts sluit tegen de gevel de zuidwestelijke fabriekshal aan met een doorrit over de eerste bouwlaag. De oostgevel is gedeeltelijk verborgen achter latere kantooruitbreidingen en oorspronkelijke aanbouwen. De gevel heeft voorts een regelmatige gevelindeling met segmentboogvormige vensters zoals voornoemd.
Waardering.
De fabriekshal is van algemeen belang vanwege cultuurhistorische en architectuurhistorische waarden als essentieel onderdeel van de dakpannenfabriek De Valk. De hal heeft architectuurhistorische en typologische waarde als goed voorbeeld van een dergelijke hal uit het begin van de twintigste eeuw, met onder meer een karakteristieke gevelindeling. De hal heeft vanwege de functie, historie en situering ensemblewaarde in samenhang met de overige complexonderdelen en is mede bepalend voor de kenmerkende gevelwand die het complex vormt langs de Aasterbergweg.

Introduction.
FACTORY HALL component of the complex roof tile factory De Valk and built in the first quarter of the twentieth century. The hall is situated at right angles to the Aasterbergweg and abuts with the west facade against the other protected factory hall. The intermediate section adjoins the east facade, by which the hall is connected to the dwelling and the later office building. The hall has undergone various modifications due to changed use but has been preserved in recognisable main form and character.
Description.
The factory hall is constructed as a simple longitudinal hall on a rectangular ground plan, covered with a gabled roof with the ridge direction at right angles to the Aasterbergweg. The roof slopes with modest overhang at front and rear are covered with red tiles and provided with several small roof lights. Rainwater drainage takes place via mast gutters and box gutters and the roof is finished with wind braces. The ridge has a chimney. The facades are constructed in red brick in stretcher bond and provided with segmental arch windows with originally a twelve-pane cast iron glazing bar division and brick drip moulding. The southern gable on the Aasterbergweg has corner pilasters. In the right facade half at the location of an internal transformer room two transformer doors. To the left of it a bricked-up window as described. In the second storey two, and in the gable top one window as described. The northern end gable is blind. The west facade has a regular facade division in three storeys with windows as described, several of which are bricked up or painted over. In the facade there are three rectangular doors which in their current form are not original. To the right abuts against the facade the south-western factory hall with a through passage over the first storey. The east facade is partially obscured by later office extensions and original annexes. The facade furthermore has a regular facade division with segmental arch windows as aforementioned.
Valuation.
The factory hall is of general interest because of cultural historical and architectural historical values as an essential component of the roof tile factory De Valk. The hall has architectural historical and typological value as a good example of such a hall from the early twentieth century, with among other things a characteristic facade division. The hall has, because of its function, history and location, ensemble value in connection with the other complex components and is also determining for the characteristic facade wall which the complex forms along the Aasterbergweg.
