Inleiding
Centraal op de algemene begraafplaats van Sambeek staat het ongedateerde GRAFKRUIS van J. Bongers, dat waarschijnlijk dateert uit het eerste kwart van de twintigste eeuw.
Omschrijving
Het grafkruis is identiek aan het kruis 525230: het opengewerkte gietijzeren kruis heeft in het centrum de ingegoten, in vergelijking met andere kruisen zeer kleine corpus van de gekruisigde Christus. De kruisarmen zijn gesierd met afbeeldingen van engelenkopjes en tarwearen.
Waardering
Het gietijzeren grafmonument is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een sociale en geestelijke ontwikkeling, in het bijzonder de ontwikkeling van de katholieke grafcultuur, het is tevens van belang voor de typologische ontwikkeling van het gietijzeren grafmonument. At the centre of the general cemetery of Sambeek stands an undated GRAVE CROSS of J. Bongers, which probably dates from the first quarter of the twentieth century.

The grave cross is identical to cross 525230: the openwork cast-iron cross has in the centre a cast-in corpus of the crucified Christ, which is very small in comparison with other crosses. The cross-arms are decorated with images of cherub heads and wheat ears.
Valuation
The cast-iron grave monument is of general importance. It has cultural-historical value as a particular expression of a social and spiritual development, in particular the development of Catholic grave culture, and it is also significant for the typological development of the cast-iron grave monument.
