Inleiding
In de noordoostelijke hoek van de algemene begraafplaats van Sambeek staat het GRAFKRUIS van J. Clabbers (+1933), dat waarschijnlijk vervaardigd is in het eerste kwart van de twintigste eeuw.
Omschrijving
Het ajour gietijzeren kruis heeft in het centrum een afbeelding van de doop in de Jordaan. Op de schacht is, deels verscholen achter het opgeschroefde tekstbord, de figuur van een heilige met een kelk ingegoten. Het kruis is versierd met architectonische motieven.
Waardering
Het gietijzeren grafmonument is van algemeen belang. The open-worked cast iron cross has in its centre an image of the baptism in the Jordan. On the shaft is, partly concealed behind the screwed-on text board, the figure of a saint with a chalice cast in. The cross is decorated with architectural motifs.
