Inleiding
Het ZOMERHUIS annex KARNHUIS maakt deel uit van het complex Gebrokendijk 6 in de gemeente Korendijk. Het zomerhuis is halverwege de negentiende eeuw gebouwd in een Ambachtelijk-traditionele trant, tegelijkertijd met de boerderij. Het zomerhuis is in vrijwel gave staat.
Omschrijving
Het zomerhuis is aan de rechterzijde van het dwarshuis en schuur gesitueerd met de nok evenwijdig aan die van de schuur. Het pand, met begane grond en kap, is opgetrokken vanuit een rechthoekige plattegrond in gele ijsselsteen in kruisverband en staat onder een zadeldak met rode pannen. Aan de rechterzijde heeft het huis een enigszins gewelfde aankapping. De rechtgesloten deur en vensters staan onder rollagen. Simpele muurankers verlevendigen de gevels.
De hoofdentree met eenvoudige deur onder tweeruits bovenlicht bevindt zich in de linker zijgevel. Links van de deur bevindt zich een venster met twaalfruits schuifraam en twee dubbele deuren, rechts van de deur staan twee van dergelijke vensters.
De voorkant met tuitgevel heeft in beide bouwlagen een venster met schuifraam. De achtergevel heeft halfronde vensters met roedenverdeling in de gietijzeren ramen.
Inwendig verkeert het zomerhuis nog grotendeels in de originele staat. Er zijn nog vele originele onderdelen aanwezig zoals een bedstede en een mechanisme om te karnen.
Waardering
Het zomerhuis is van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuurhistorische, de architectuurhistorische en de ensemblewaarde.
- Het zomerhuis heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzonder onderdeel van een voor de regio karakteristiek boerderijtype.

The SUMMER HOUSE adjoining a DAIRY forms part of the complex Gebrokendijk 6 in the municipality of Korendijk. The summer house was built halfway through the nineteenth century in a Craftsman-traditional style, at the same time as the farmhouse. The summer house is in virtually pristine condition.
Description
The summer house is situated on the right side of the transverse house and barn with the ridge running parallel to that of the barn. The building, with ground floor and roof space, is constructed from a rectangular ground plan in yellow Ijssel brick in English bond and stands under a gabled roof with red tiles. On the right side the house has a somewhat barrel-vaulted lean-to roof. The right-angled door and windows stand under roll courses. Simple wall anchors enliven the walls.
The main entrance with a simple door under two-pane fanlight is located in the left side wall. To the left of the door is a window with twelve-pane sash window and two double doors, to the right of the door are two such windows.
The front with spout gable has a window with sash window in both storeys. The rear wall has semicircular windows with glazing bars in the cast-iron frames.
Internally the summer house still remains largely in its original state. Many original components are still present such as a bed cupboard and a mechanism for churning.
