Inleiding
Betonnen KLAARBASSIN(S), opgetrokken in een functionalistische stijl, uit het begin van de twintigste eeuw. Enig overgebleven exemplaar van de oorspronkelijke drie. Aan de achterzijde bevindt zich een nieuw gebouw. Het klaarbassin maakt deel uit van het complex van de Westlandse drinkwaterleiding.
Omschrijving
Het éénlaags klaar- of bezinkbassin is opgetrokken op een rechthoekige plattegrond en heeft een betonnen gewelf waarvan de ronde vorm in de voorgevel een soort tympaan oplevert met daarin een vierruits stalen kozijn dat de kromming van de dakrand volgt. Hieronder een nieuwe deur. Het bassin is enigszins verdiept aangelegd waardoor de zijgevels deels zijn aangeaard.
Waardering
Het klaarbassin is van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuurhistorische waarde door de plaats in de geschiedenis van de regionale nutsbedrijven. Tevens van algemeen belang vanwege de architectuurhistorische waarde vanwege de specifieke constructiewijze en de verschijningsvorm die daaruit voortvloeit. Het klaarbassin heeft ensemblewaarde vanwege de ruimtelijke en functionele relatie die onderhouden wordt met de overige complexonderdelen. Description
The single-storey clear or settling basin is constructed on a rectangular ground plan and has a concrete vault whose round form in the front facade creates a sort of tympanum with a four-pane steel window that follows the curve of the roof edge. Below this a new door. The basin is laid somewhat sunken, as a result of which the side facades are partly built up against the earth.

The clear basin is of general importance for its cultural-historical value through its place in the history of regional utilities.
