Inleiding
DUBBEL WOONHUIS met bijbehorende ERFSCHEIDING in eclectische trant. Het pand dateert in oorsprong waarschijnlijk uit de 17de of 18de eeuw maar heeft in het laatste kwart van de 19de eeuw het huidige aanzien verkregen.
Het pand is zeer beeldbepalend gelegen binnen de vesting Naarden.
Omschrijving
Groot nagenoeg rechthoekig bouwblok van twee bouwlagen onder een schilddak met de noklijn evenwijdig aan de straat en met een dekking van gesmoorde Hollandse pannen. De gevels zijn opgetrokken in bruine baksteen met hoge aangesmeerde plint en siermetselwerk van gele baksteen in de strekken boven de vensters op de begane grond. De achtergevel is witgepleisterd. Eenvoudige geprofileerde gootlijst rondom en decoratieve rozetankers ter hoogte van de verdiepingsvloer. Beganegronds deels de oorspronkelijke schuifvensters met bovenlicht en op de verdieping T-vensters. Aan de voorgevel telt het linker woonhuis vier vensterassen met in de tweede van links de entreepartij, bestaande uit een paneeldeur met bovenlicht in een houten lijst. Boven de entree een blindvenster en aan weerszijden vensters. Het rechter woonhuis telt aan de voorgevel vijf vensterassen met in het midden de entreepartij met paneeldeur en bovenlicht in een houten lijst met driehoekige frontonbekroning. De kopse zijgevels tellen elk twee vensterassen met op de begane grond aangebouwde serres onder flauw hellend dakje. In de dakschilden dakkapellen, rechts met frontonbekroning en links met hijsbalk. De achtergevel telt zes onregelmatig geplaatste vensterassen. Links in het dakschild een dakkapel met frontonbekroning.
Langs de voorgevel een eenvoudig ijzeren hekwerk als erfscheiding.
Waardering
Het dubbele woonhuis met bijbehorende erfscheiding is van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuur- en architectuurhistorische waarde als representatief voorbeeld van een dubbel woonhuis uit het einde van de 19de eeuw met waarschijnlijk oudere kern en heeft situationele waarde vanwege de zeer beeldbepalende situering binnen de vesting Naarden.

Description
Large substantially rectangular building block of two storeys under a hipped roof with the ridge line parallel to the street and covered with dampened Dutch tiles. The facades are built in brown brick with high rendered plinth and decorative brickwork of yellow brick in the courses above the windows on the ground floor. The rear facade is whitewashed. Simple profiled gutter moulding all around and decorative wall anchors at the level of the floor between storeys. On the ground floor partly the original sash windows with fanlight and on the upper storey T-windows. At the front facade the left dwelling house has four window bays with the second from left containing the entrance section, consisting of a panelled door with fanlight in a wooden frame. Above the entrance a blind window and windows on either side. The right dwelling house has five window bays at the front facade with the entrance section in the middle with panelled door and fanlight in a wooden frame with triangular gable crest. The end side facades each have two window bays with conservatories attached on the ground floor under gently sloping rooflets. In the roof slopes dormer windows, on the right with gable crest and on the left with hoist beam. The rear facade has six irregularly placed window bays. On the left in the roof slope a dormer window with gable crest.
Along the front facade a simple iron railing as boundary fence.
Valuation
The double dwelling house with associated boundary fence is of general importance by reason of cultural and architectural-historical value as a representative example of a double dwelling house from the end of the 19th century with probably older core and has situational value by reason of the very striking location within the fortification of Naarden.
