Inleiding
Familiegraf C. Laumans-Gitmans, 1921. Het graf is gesitueerd ter linkerzijde van de hoofdlaan (vak 9) in de aanleg van de begraafplaats aan de Kerkhoflaan.
Omschrijving
Grafmonument in zachtrode tufsteen. Centraal geplaatst bronzen H.Hartbeeld in een licht getoogde tufstenen nis. Tegen de achterwand van de nis een blauw mozaïek met een gouden kruismotief. In de sluitsteen van de nis het Alpha-Omega-monogram. Op de sokkel van het H.Hartbeeld een bronzen plaquette "Rustplaats der familie C. Laumans-Gitmans", op het muurwerk van de nis twee bronzen reliëfs. Aan weerszijden van deze nis twee lagere tufstenen zijpanelen - voorzien van diverse grafschriften - waarnaast hoekzuilen zijn geplaatst. Deze zuilen dragen een betonnen bovenafdekking met bolornamenten. Op de sokkels voor de hoekzuilen twee kunststenen engelen. Afscheiding van tufstenen blokken, afgewisseld met korte pilasters voorzien van een decoratieve bovenafdekking.
Waardering
Het familiegraf Laumans-Gitmans is van cultuurhistorische waarde en vertegenwoordigt algemeen belang als bijzondere funeraire uiting van het belang en de betrokkenheid van deze familie bij de sociaal-economische ontwikkeling van de Limburgse Maasvallei vanaf het derde kwart van de negentiende eeuw en van Tegelen in het bijzonder. De architectuurhistorische waarden van het familiegraf zijn aanzienlijk vanwege de materiaaltoepassing en de karakteristieke vormgeving. De situering van het familiegraf aan de hoofdlaan van de begraafplaats onderstreept het belang van dit object. Het graf verkeert in gave staat. Tenslotte is bij deze vorm van funerair erfgoed sprake van een aanzienlijke typologische zeldzaamheidswaarde.

Description
Grave monument in soft red tufa stone. Centrally placed bronze Sacred Heart statue in a slightly arched tufa stone niche. Against the rear wall of the niche a blue mosaic with a golden cross motif. In the keystone of the niche the Alpha-Omega monogram. On the base of the Sacred Heart statue a bronze plaque "Resting place of the family C. Laumans-Gitmans", on the masonry of the niche two bronze reliefs. On either side of this niche two lower tufa stone side panels - provided with various epitaphs - next to which corner columns are placed. These columns bear a concrete top covering with ball ornaments. On the bases before the corner columns two artificial stone angels. Enclosure of tufa stone blocks, alternated with short pilasters provided with decorative top covering.
Valuation
The family grave Laumans-Gitmans is of cultural-historical value and represents general interest as a distinctive funerary expression of the importance and involvement of this family in the socio-economic development of the Limburgian Maas valley from the third quarter of the nineteenth century and of Tegelen in particular. The architectural-historical values of the family grave are considerable due to the material application and characteristic design. The siting of the family grave on the main avenue of the cemetery underlines the importance of this object. The grave is in sound condition.
