Inleiding complexonderdeel 4
Bij het landhuis De Boeckhorst behorende dubbele DIENSTWONING oorspronkelijk met onderliggende GARAGES eerst gebouwd als enkele dienstwoning tussen 1913 en 1916 in naar een ontwerp van J.J.(Co) Brandes (1885-1955) in opdracht van P.J. van Ommeren in zakelijk expressionistische stijl. De bouwstijl van de dienstwoning is een vereenvoudigde variant van de bouwtrant van het woonhuis die beïnvloed is door Engelse en Duitse landhuisbouw. In 1936 is de dienstwoning verdubbeld, waarbij de nieuwe woning werd gespiegeld aan de bestaande woning. De garages zijn thans bij de woningen betrokken.
Omschrijving
Het samengestelde bouwvolume van de dubbele dienstwoning telt één bouwlaag en bestaat uit twee in hoofdvorm spiegelbeeldige, identieke woonhuizen onder zadeldaken met leien in Maasdekking en daartussen een plat afgedekt tussenlid met 3 vensters. Net als bij het landhuis zijn de gevels opgetrokken in rode baksteen en voorzien van natuurstenen hoek- en sluitstenen en decoratieve terracottategels. De enkele en samengestelde vensterpartijen met kleine roedenverdeling zijn afgehangen met luiken. In de puntgevels van de woonhuizen aan de straatzijde (zuidoost) beganegronds links twee vensters en rechts een originele houten garagedeur met panelen. De garagedeuren zijn omlijst met een rand van decoratieve terracottategels. Op de hoeken van de woonhuizen de entrees in hoekportieken, links met houten en rechts met terracottategels beklede hoekkolom.
Waardering
De dubbele dienstwoning met garages uit 1913-1916 is van algemeen belang vanwege cultuur-, architectuurhistorische en ensemblewaarde vanwege de functionele, ruimtelijke en stilistische samenhang met de overige complexonderdelen bij het landhuis De Boeckhorst en vanwege de gaafheid in hoofdvorm, materiaalgebruik en detaillering.

Double SERVICE DWELLING belonging to the country house De Boeckhorst originally with underlying GARAGES first built as a single service dwelling between 1913 and 1916 to a design by J.J.(Co) Brandes (1885-1955) on commission from P.J. van Ommeren in business expressionist style. The building style of the service dwelling is a simplified variant of the building tradition of the residential house which was influenced by English and German country house construction. In 1936 the service dwelling was doubled, with the new dwelling being mirrored against the existing dwelling. The garages are now incorporated with the dwellings.
Description
The composite building volume of the double service dwelling comprises one storey and consists of two main-form mirror-image, identical residential houses under gabled roofs with slate in Maas covering and between them a flat-topped intermediate section with 3 windows. Like the country house, the façades are constructed in red brick and provided with natural stone corner and closing stones and decorative terracotta tiles. The single and composite window arrangements with small glazing bars are hung with shutters. In the gable façades of the residential houses on the street side (south-east) ground floor on the left two windows and on the right an original wooden garage door with panels. The garage doors are framed with a border of decorative terracotta tiles. At the corners of the residential houses the entrances in corner porches, on the left with wooden and on the right with terracotta-tiled corner column.
Valuation
The double service dwelling with garages dating from 1913-1916 is of general importance due to cultural, architectural-historical and ensemble value due to the functional, spatial and stylistic coherence with the other complex components of the country house De Boeckhorst and due to the integrity in main form, material use and detailing.
