Inleiding complexonderdeel 2
De TUIN- EN PARKAANLEG behorende bij de historische buitenplaats Maarheeze is te onderscheiden in een geometrische tuinaanleg bij het landhuis Maarheeze met terrassen en gemetselde muurtjes in de trant van de Nieuw Architectonische tuinstijl. Deze dateert uit ca. 1917 en is ontworpen door de tuinarchitect D.F. Tersteeg. En daarnaast een omringende 19de-eeuwse parkaanleg, die oorspronkelijk behoorde tot het landgoed Clingendael. Deze is compositorisch bij de tuin betrokken.
Objectomschrijving
De geometrische tuin voor de westgevel heeft een symmetrische aanleg. Direct voor de gevel een hoog terras afgeschermd door een gemetselde muur. Ter hoogte van het middenrisaliet in de gevel springt het terras naar voren en hier bevindt zich op het niveau van de tuin in de muur een betegelde fontein met spuwers onder een rondboog. Aan weerszijden daarvan leiden twee trappen van het hoge terras naar twee lager gelegen terrassen en vandaar gaan trappen de eigenlijke tuin in. Vierkant gazon met in het midden een vierkante vijverpartij. Laag meanderend gemetseld muurtje rond het gazon. Het landschapspark fungeert als coulis en geeft de aanleg beslotenheid.

The GARDEN AND PARK LAYOUT belonging to the historical country estate Maarheeze is to be distinguished in a geometric garden layout at the country house Maarheeze with terraces and masonry walls in the manner of New Architectonic garden style. This dates from circa 1917 and was designed by garden architect D.F. Tersteeg. And additionally a surrounding 19th-century park layout, which originally belonged to the estate Clingendael. This is compositionally integrated with the garden.
Object Description
The geometric garden to the west facade has a symmetrical layout. Directly before the facade a high terrace screened by a masonry wall. At the height of the middle risalit in the facade the terrace projects forward and here, at the level of the garden, is located in the wall a tiled fountain with spouts under a round arch. On either side of this, two staircases lead from the high terrace to two lower terraces and from there stairs lead into the actual garden. Square lawn with in the centre a square pond area. Low meandering masonry wall around the lawn. The landscape park functions as a backdrop and provides enclosure to the layout.
