Inleiding complexonderdeel 3
In Landschapsstijl uitgevoerde PARKAANLEG behorende bij de historische buitenplaats Oud Cingendaal, daterend uit 1868 waarbij gebruik werd gemaakt van de reeds aanwezige duinbossen en formele achttiende eeuwse tuinaanleg.
Omschrijving
Het perceel dat in oorsprong bij de buitenplaats hoorde wordt doorsneden door een oprijlaan die is beplant met beuken en eindigt in een keerlus voor het huis. Het voorplein is in een halve cirkelvorm eveneens beplant met beuken. Het zuid-westelijke deel van het park wordt grotendeels in beslag genomen door een grote open weide die deels in gebruik is als kwekerij. Ten noordoosten van het landhuis is een groot gazon aangelegd dat begrensd wordt door een bosschage met een waterpartij die in verbinding staat met de aftakking van de Veenwatering (noord-west). Langs de noord-oostelijke grens is het gazon omgeven door een rododendronhaag, naaldbomen en eiken. Zuidoostelijk van het gazon een niervormige vijver met twee eilanden waarop behalve rododendrons, volwassen bomen staan. De vijver staat in verbinding met de aftakking van de Veenwatering. Het terras aan de zuid-oostzijde van het huis gaat over in het gazon dat vervolgens opgaat in het vlakke polderlandschap van de Veenzijdse polder.
Ten noordwesten van het terras is een bijzondere, smalle langgerekte vijver aangelegd.
Waardering
De parkaanleg van de historische buitenplaats Oud Clingendaal is van algemeen belang vanwege cultuurhistorische en tuinarchitectuurhistorische waarde als gaaf en herkenbaar voorbeeld van een van een park in Landschapsstijl uit de tweede helft van de 19e eeuw.
Het park heeft ensemblewaarde vanwege de historisch ruimtelijke en functionele samenhang met de overige complexonderdelen.
Het park is van stedebouwkundig belang als onderdeel van de reeks buitenplaatsen aan weerszijden van de Rijksstraatweg.

PARK LAYOUT executed in Landscape style belonging to the historical country estate Oud Cingendaal, dating from 1868 in which use was made of the already present dune forests and formal eighteenth century garden layout.
Description
The plot that originally belonged to the country estate is traversed by a driveway planted with beeches and ending in a turning circle in front of the house. The forecourt is in a semicircular form also planted with beeches. The south-western part of the park is largely occupied by a large open meadow which is partly in use as a nursery. To the north-east of the manor house a large lawn has been laid out which is bounded by a copse with a water feature that is connected to a branch of the Veenwatering (north-west). Along the north-eastern border the lawn is surrounded by a rhododendron hedge, conifers and oaks. To the south-east of the lawn a kidney-shaped pond with two islands on which, besides rhododendrons, mature trees stand. The pond is connected to a branch of the Veenwatering. The terrace on the south-east side of the house transitions into the lawn which subsequently opens up into the flat polder landscape of the Veenzijdse polder.
To the north-west of the terrace a distinctive, narrow elongated pond has been laid out.
Valuation
The park layout of the historical country estate Oud Clingendaal is of general importance because of cultural historical and garden architectural historical value as an intact and recognizable example of a park in Landscape style from the second half of the 19th century.
The park has ensemble value because of the historical spatial and functional coherence with the other complex components.
The park is of urban planning importance as part of the series of country estates on both sides of the Rijksstraatweg.
