De bij het landhuis De Vrije Blick behorende TUIN- en PARKAANLEG met TUINKOEPELTJE is aangelegd in Gemengde Tuinstijl in 1917 en bestaat uit een deel in de Nieuwe Geometrische Tuinstijl met een waterpartij, terrassen en pergola bij het landhuis en een meer landschappelijk gedeelte bij het (voormalige) koetshuis. De tuinaanleg is sterk vereenvoudigt, maar van de gemetselde onderdelen resteren en verschillende. De architect W.A. Lensvelt is voor het ontwerp bijgestaan door de Utrechtse tuinarchitect H. Copijn.
Omschrijving
Voor het landhuis een oprijlaan rond een cirkelvormig gazon met in het midden een gemetselde waterput met smeedijzeren bekroning waarin het hijswerk is aangebracht. Rechts van het huis een eenvoudige pergola van gemetselde kolommen en houten latwerk.
Voor de achtergevel (noordoost) en linker zijgevel (noordwest) een gemetseld terras waarvan de buitenmuur in grote lijnen de contouren van de gevels volgt. Voor de erker aan de noordwestgevel is het terras halfrond gemetseld met aan weerszijden gemetselde spiltrappen. Voor de middenrisaliet van de achtergevel een gemetselde trap van zes treden, die toegang geeft tot het gazon waarin een verdiept liggende rechthoekige vijver. In het parkachtige deel van de tuin bij het (voormalige) koetshuis een tuinkoepeltje dat bestaat uit een rond basement waarop zes getorste zuiltjes het smeedijzeren koepeldak dragen.
Binnen de aanleg bevindt zich een houten stal op gemetslede voet gebouwd in Traditioneel Ambachtelijke stijl.
Waardering
Uit 1917 stammende tuin- en parkaanleg met tuinkoepeltje en bijbehorend tuinmeubilair behorend bij het complex De Vrije Blick is van algemeen belang vanwege de tuin-architectuurhistorische waarde als representatief voorbeeld van de Gemengde Tuinstijl. Verder van belang voor het oeuvre van de tuinarchitecten Lensvelt en Copijn.
De tuinaanleg is van stedebouwkundig belang vanwege de functionele en ruimtelijke samenhang met de overige complexonderdelen.

The GARDEN and PARK LAYOUT with GARDEN PAVILION belonging to the country house De Vrije Blick was laid out in Mixed Garden Style in 1917 and consists of a section in the New Geometric Garden Style with a water feature, terraces and pergola at the country house and a more landscape-like section at the (former) coach house. The garden layout has been greatly simplified, but various masonry components remain. The architect W.A. Lensvelt was assisted in the design by the Utrecht garden architect H. Copijn.
Description
Before the country house a drive around a circular lawn with in the middle a masonry well with wrought-iron capping in which the hoisting mechanism is mounted. To the right of the house a simple pergola of masonry columns and wooden lattice work.
Before the rear facade (northeast) and left side facade (northwest) a masonry terrace whose outer wall generally follows the contours of the facades. For the bay window on the northwest facade the terrace is semicircularly constructed with masonry spiral stairs on either side. Before the central risalit of the rear facade a masonry staircase of six steps, which provides access to the lawn in which a sunken rectangular pond. In the park-like section of the garden at the (former) coach house a garden pavilion consisting of a round basement on which six fluted columns support the wrought-iron domed roof.
Within the layout there is a wooden stable built on a masonry foundation in Traditional Craft Style.
Valuation
The garden and park layout with garden pavilion and associated garden furniture dating from 1917 belonging to the De Vrije Blick complex is of general importance because of its garden-architectural historical value as a representative example of Mixed Garden Style. Further important for the oeuvre of the garden architects Lensvelt and Copijn.
The garden layout is of urban planning importance because of the functional and spatial coherence with the other complex components.
