De rij WONINGEN aan de Nieuwstraat maken deel uit van het U-vormige woningcomplex gebouwd in 1917-1918 in een bouwstijl, die kan worden beschouwd als een vereenvoudigde variant van de Amsterdamse School.

De in schone baksteen opgetrokken woningen kent een vrijwel symmetrische opzet bestaande uit een middendeel van twee bouwlagen onder een tentdak geflankeerd door verdiepingloze delen onder een zadeldak en de buitenste bouwdelen onder een wolfdak. De kappen zijn voorzien van rechthoekige houten dakkapellen en licht uitkragende, op klossen rustende dakgoten. Alle gevelopeningen zijn rechtgesloten en voorzien van uitgemetselde lekdorpels en strekken.
De buitenste bouwdelen zijn hoger opgaand. Het linker is voorzien van een erker met schuine zijden. De erker draagt een balkon met gemetselde borstwering, waarop een openslaande, binnen boven- en zijlichten staande deur uitkomt.

The dwellings, constructed in fair-faced brickwork, feature an almost symmetrical layout consisting of a middle section of two storeys under a tent roof flanked by single-storey sections under a gabled roof and the outermost building sections under a half-hipped roof. All window openings are rectangular and furnished with exposed drip moulds and stretcher course.
