Inleiding
Voormalige DIENSTWONINGEN, gebouwd in 1905 naar ontwerp van B.J. Ouendag, zuidelijke van het complex van drie identieke blokken van zes geschakelde woningen. De woningen liggen tegen het talud van de zuidelijke Amsteldijk en behoorden functioneel tot de Springstoffenfabriek te Ouderkerk aan de Amstel, die zich op enige honderden meters verder naar het zuiden bevindt. Sinds sluiting van de fabriek is elk van de woningen afzonderlijk verkocht; de woonfunctie bleef behouden.
Omschrijving
Het object bestaat uit zes geschakelde woningen met de nokrichting evenwijdig aan de dijk: noord-zuid. Het blok is op langgerekte rechthoekige plattegrond opgetrokken in grauwe (voet) en rode (overige gevel) baksteen, gemetseld in staand verband. Doordat de woningen tegen het dijktalud zijn geplaatst, wordt de enkele bouwlaag van de voorgevel naar achteren toe uitgebreid met een benedenverdieping. De woning hebben een doorgaand zadeldak gedekt met gesmoorde kruispannen met gemetselde schoorstenen op de nok.
De voorgevel (oost) is symmetrisch ingedeeld en heeft per woning een deur met hardstenen stoep en een vierruits venster met daaronder een ontluchting van de lagere verdieping. De houten goot wordt gedragen op een bakstenen tandlijst. Boven de vensters een dakkapel met tympaanbekroning en loodbekleding.
De kopgevels (noord en zuid) met topvenster zijn afgezet met vlechtingen en hebben nokankers.
De symmetrische achtergevel (west) heeft per woning een deur, een laag venster en daarboven een groot vierruitsvenster en een klein venster. Vlak boven de gootlijst zijn dakkapellen aangebracht als aan de voorzijde.
Waardering
Het object is van algemeen belang als historisch-functioneel onderdeel van het complex Dienstwoningen Amsteldijk-Zuid 23-40.
Daarnaast is het object van belang uit cultuurhistorisch en architectuurhistorisch oogpunt als gaaf bewaard gebleven voorbeeld van laat 19de-eeuwse dienstwoningen.
Het object heeft ensemblewaarde als onderdeel van drie identieke woonblokken en door de functionele relatie tot het complex Springstoffenfabriek bij Ouderkerk aan de Amstel. Door de ligging aan de Amstel heeft het object beeldbepalende waarde.

Introduction
Former SERVICE DWELLINGS, built in 1905 according to a design by B.J. Ouendag, southern of the complex of three identical blocks of six terraced dwellings. The dwellings are situated against the slope of the southern Amsteldijk and functionally belonged to the Explosives Factory at Ouderkerk aan de Amstel, which is located several hundred metres further to the south. Since the closure of the factory, each of the dwellings has been sold individually; the residential function was retained.
Description
The object consists of six terraced dwellings with the ridge direction parallel to the dike: north-south. The block is constructed on an elongated rectangular plan in grey (base) and red (remaining facade) brick, laid in stretcher bond. Because the dwellings are placed against the dike slope, the single storey of the front facade is extended towards the rear with a basement level. The dwellings have a continuous gabled roof covered with interlocking tiles with brick chimneys on the ridge.
The front facade (east) is symmetrically arranged and has per dwelling a door with sandstone step and a four-pane window with below it a ventilation opening of the lower level. The wooden gutter is supported on a brick tooth moulding. Above the windows a roof dormer with tympanum coping and lead covering.
The end gables (north and south) with top window are finished with woven courses and have ridge anchors.
The symmetrical rear facade (west) has per dwelling a door, a low window and above it a large four-pane window and a small window. Just above the gutter line roof dormers are installed as on the front side.
Valuation
The object is of general importance as a historical-functional component of the complex Service Dwellings Amsteldijk-Zuid 23-40.
Moreover, the object is of importance from a cultural-historical and architectural-historical perspective as a well-preserved example of late 19th-century service dwellings.
The object has ensemble value as part of three identical residential blocks and through the functional relationship to the complex Explosives Factory at Ouderkerk aan de Amstel. Due to its location on the Amstel, the object has townscape value.
