Complexonderdeel 5
De WAGENSCHUUR gebouwd omstreeks 1880 bevindt zich in het zuidwestelijk deel van het park van het landgoed De Boom nabij de (verbouwde) tuinmanswoning, oranjerie en moestuin. De schuur staat evenwijdig aan de naastgelegen woning en haaks op de moestuin. De schuur op een rechthoekig grondplan bestaat uit één bouwlaag onder een zadeldak, gedekt met gesmoorde Oud-Hollandse pannen, waarvan het rechter dakschild verder doorgetrokken is. Aan de voor- en achterzijde zijn eenvoudige windveren aangebracht. De gevels zijn opgetrokken in baksteen in staand verband met strekken of ontlastingsbogen boven venster- en deuropeningen. De asymmetrische voorgevel (oostzijde) bevat een hoge getoogde dubbele deur met daarboven een getoogd zolderluik. Rechts bevindt zich een getoogde staldeur en een halfcirkelvormig gietijzeren venster en links een rondboog gietijzeren roedenvenster.
De linkerzijgevel bevat links een deur en een vierruits schuifvenster met rechts daarvan een rondboog gietijzeren roedenvenster. Aan de rechterzijde is tegen de gevel een waterpomp geplaatst.
De lagere rechterzijgevel heeft twee getoogde staldeuren met links daarvan een halfcirkelvormig gietijzeren venster.
De achtergevel beschikt over een rond venster in de geveltop.
De schuur bevat links een werkvloer met daarachter gelegen een dagverblijf met een schouw en oven en rechts een stalruimte.
Waardering
De wagenschuur is van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuur- en architectuurhistorische waarde als gaaf voorbeeld van een bakstenen wagenschuur met stalruimte en bakoven uit het laatste kwart van de negentiende eeuw, gebouwd als onderdeel van het nutstuingedeelte van de buitenplaats De Boom. Tevens vanwege de ensemblewaarde in ruimtelijke en functionele samenhang met de overige complexonderdelen.

The COACH HOUSE built around 1880 is situated in the southwestern part of the park of the estate De Boom near the (converted) gardener's cottage, orangery and kitchen garden. The barn stands parallel to the adjacent cottage and at right angles to the kitchen garden. The barn on a rectangular ground plan consists of one storey under a gabled roof, covered with weathered Old-Dutch pantiles, of which the right roof slope extends further. Simple wind vanes are provided at the front and rear. The facades are built in brickwork in running bond with relief arches above window and door openings. The asymmetrical front facade (east side) contains a tall arched double door with above it an arched hayloft door. On the right is an arched stable door and a semicircular cast-iron window and on the left a round-arch cast-iron glazing-barred window.
The left side facade contains a door on the left and a four-pane sash window with to the right thereof a round-arch cast-iron glazing-barred window. On the right side a water pump is placed against the facade.
The lower right side facade has two arched stable doors with to the left thereof a semicircular cast-iron window.
The rear facade has a round window in the gable top.
The barn contains on the left a work floor with behind it a day room with a chimney and oven and on the right a stable space.
Valuation
The coach house is of general importance because of its cultural and architectural historical value as an intact example of a brick coach house with stable space and baking oven from the last quarter of the nineteenth century, built as part of the utility garden section of the country house De Boom. Also because of its ensemble value in spatial and functional relationship with the other complex components.
