Inleiding
SPUITHUIS van de brandweer uit het eerste kwart van de twintigste eeuw, behorende bij het complex van de psychiatrische inrichting Duin en Bosch. De dubbele deur aan de achterzijde is naderhand verhoogd en naar rechts verbreed.
Omschrijving
Op een vierkante plattegrond in rood/grauw halfsteens verband opgetrokken bouwlichaam onder een flauw hellend, betimmerd en licht overkragend zadeldak op klossen. Het metselwerk wordt verlevendigd door een gepleisterde band op circa 3/5 gevelhoogte. De omgaande plint heeft een afgeschuinde bovenrand, op de hoeken versterkt door een blokje hardsteen. In de voor- en achtergevel bevindt zich een opgeklampte dubbele deur. De deur aan de voorzijde wordt ontlast door een segmentboog met gecementeerde sluit- en aanzetstenen.
Waardering
Het voormalige spuithuis van de brandweer uit het eerste kwart van de twintigste eeuw is van algemeen belang als historisch-functioneel onderdeel van het ziekenhuiscomplex Duin en Bosch. Vanwege de typologische waarde.

FIRE ENGINE HOUSE from the first quarter of the twentieth century, belonging to the complex of the psychiatric institution Duin en Bosch. The double door on the rear side was subsequently raised and widened to the right.
Description
On a square ground plan constructed in red/grey half-bond brickwork, a building mass under a gently sloping, boarded and lightly overhanging gabled roof on corbels. The masonry is enlivened by a plastered band at approximately 3/5 facade height. The surrounding plinth has a bevelled top edge, reinforced at the corners by a small block of hard stone. In the front and rear facade is a clamped double door. The door on the front side is relieved by a segmental arch with cemented key and springing stones.
Valuation
The former fire engine house from the first quarter of the twentieth century is of general importance as a historical-functional component of the hospital complex Duin en Bosch. On account of its typological value.
