Inleiding
De in de stijl van het negentiende-eeuwse TRADITIONALISME gebouwde boerderij staat aan de Heinsbergerweg te Melick. Het betreft hier een voormalig keuterboerderijtje met een uitbouw aan het bedrijfsgedeelte. De Heinsbergerweg kreeg een ander beloop omstreeks 1950, toen de meeste bochten uit de weg werden gehaald en de weg werd rechtgetrokken. Na deze wegverlegging ligt de nok van de boerderij niet meer haaks maar schuin op de Heinsbergerweg. In de frontgevel van de boerderij een gevelsteen met het jaartal 1871.
Omschrijving
De BOERDERIJ heeft een L-vormige plattegrond en één bouwlaag onder een zadeldak. Het woongedeelte en een klein deel van het stalgedeelte zijn belegd met rode muldenpannen. Vanaf de plaats waar de boerderij is verlengd is het dak belegd met golfpannen.
De nokpannen zijn eveneens rood van kleur. De boerderij is opgetrokken in baksteen met metselwerk uitgevoerd in kruisverband. In de gevels diverse vloerankers.
De gevelopeningen zijn segmentboogvormig en hebben een afronding aan de bovenzijde middels een strek en natuursteen dorpels. Met uitzondering van de twee vensters in de top van de frontgevel en twee vensters in de rechterzijgevel hebben de vensters groene blinden. De houten T-kozijnen zijn rechthoekig en geleed, en voorzien van bovenlichten. De rechthoekige houten deur heeft een geleed bovenlicht.
In de voor- en achtergevel bevinden zich vlechtingen in het metselwerk onder de dakrand. In de lange geveldelen is onder de dakrand decoratief metselwerk in een muizetandlijst aangebracht.
De frontgevel heeft in de eerste bouwlaag twee vensters en in de nok onder het dak twee kleinere gelede vensters. In de linkerzijgevel achtereenvolgens een venster, een deur naar het woongedeelte, een venster, een deur naar de voormalige varkensstal en een rechthoekige houten poort naar de vruchtenschuur aan. Na de poort volgt een kleine uitbouw, de voormalige paardenstal met een rechthoekige houten deur en een klein vierkant houten venster. De achtergevel is blind. In de rechterzijgevel zijn in het bedrijfsgedeelte een rechthoekige houten deur en twee rechthoekige houten gelede vensters.
De indeling van het INTERIEUR is in tact hetgeen blijkt uit de situering van gang en kamers.
De plafonds en vloeren zijn authentiek, in de keuken een authentiek aanrecht en een waterpomp, de kelder heeft een gewelfd plafond, terwijl het gebint in de zolder boven woon- en bedrijfsgedeelte volledig in tact is.
Waardering
De BOERDERIJ aan de Heinsbergerweg bezit architectonische kwaliteiten als specimen van een bouwtraditie voor boerderijen uit de negentiende eeuw, een bouwtraditie die teruggaat tot de vroege achttiende eeuw. Vanwege type en omvang is de boerderij van cultuur-historische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een sociaal-economische en typologische ontwikkeling van de boerderij tot het eind van de 19de eeuw. De boerderij is een gaaf voorbeeld van een keuterboerderij met een uitbouw in "langgeveltrant". The farmhouse built in the style of nineteenth-century TRADITIONALISM stands on the Heinsbergerweg at Melick. This is a former smallholding farmhouse with an extension to the farm buildings. The Heinsbergerweg took a different course around 1950, when most of the bends were removed from the road and the road was straightened. After this road relocation, the ridge of the farmhouse no longer runs at right angles but at an angle to the Heinsbergerweg. In the front facade of the farmhouse a stone tablet with the year 1871.
Description
The FARMHOUSE has an L-shaped floor plan and one storey under a gabled roof. The residential part and a small part of the farm buildings are covered with red moulded tiles. From the point where the farmhouse has been extended, the roof is covered with corrugated tiles.
The ridge tiles are also red in colour. The farmhouse is built in brick with masonry executed in cross bond. In the facades various floor anchors.
The facade openings are segmental arch-shaped and have a rounding at the top by means of a stone course and natural stone thresholds. With the exception of the two windows at the top of the front facade and two windows in the right-side facade, the windows have green shutters. The wooden T-frames are rectangular and articulated, and provided with fanlights. The rectangular wooden door has an articulated fanlight.
In the front and rear facades there are herringbone patterns in the masonry below the eaves. In the long facade sections, decorative masonry has been applied below the eaves in a brick-tooth course.
The front facade has two windows in the first storey and two smaller articulated windows at the ridge under the roof. In the left-side facade respectively a window, a door to the residential part, a window, a door to the former pigsty and a rectangular wooden gate to the fruit store. After the gate follows a small extension, the former horse stable with a rectangular wooden door and a small square wooden window. The rear facade is blind. In the right-side facade are in the farm buildings a rectangular wooden door and two rectangular wooden articulated windows.

The ceilings and floors are authentic, in the kitchen an authentic sink and a water pump, the cellar has a vaulted ceiling, while the roof truss structure in the attic above the residential and farm sections is completely intact.

The FARMHOUSE on the Heinsbergerweg possesses architectural qualities as a specimen of a building tradition for farmhouses from the nineteenth century, a building tradition that goes back to the early eighteenth century. Due to its type and extent, the farmhouse has cultural-historical value as a particular expression of a socio-economic and typological development of the farmhouse until the end of the 19th century. The farmhouse is a well-preserved example of a smallholding with an extension in "long-facade manner".
