Inleiding.
TOEGANGSHEK uit 1909-1916 gesitueerd in de smalle oostzijde van het park. Het hekwerk kenmerkt zich door eenvoudig smeedwerk met enige invloed van de art nouveau.

Volledig uit smeedijzer opgebouwd TOEGANGSHEK opgenomen in de moderne omheining van het park, bestaande uit twee slanke hekpijlers die een ijzeren in- en uitzwenkend vaandel dragen met hierin de naam Trans Cedron in witgelakte letters uit plaatijzer. Dit vaandel is aan de uiteinden versierd met bloemmotieven. De toegang wordt gevormd door eenvoudige draaihekken met spijlen. Aan weerszijden bevindt zich aansluitend een oorspronkelijk spijlenhek van twee traveeën.
Waardering.
Het TOEGANGSHEK bezit algemeen belang en heeft ensemblewaarden als functioneel onderdeel van het kruiswegpark en is beeldbepalend aan de entree van het park. Het gaaf bewaarde hek heeft architectuur-historische waarden vanwege de sobere art nouveau vormentaal. Het toegangshek vormt de voornaamste toegang tot het park en heeft een sierende en historisch- functionele rol binnen de totale aanleg.

ACCESS GATE from 1909-1916 situated on the narrow east side of the park. The railwork is characterized by simple wrought iron with some influence of art nouveau.

ACCESS GATE constructed entirely in wrought iron incorporated in the modern fencing of the park, consisting of two slender gate piers carrying an iron swinging banner with the name Trans Cedron in white-painted letters of sheet iron. This banner is decorated at the ends with floral motifs. The entrance is formed by simple swing gates with spiles. On either side adjoining is an original spile fence of two bays.
Valuation.
The ACCESS GATE is of general public interest and has ensemble values as a functional component of the Way of the Cross park and is image-defining at the entrance of the park. The well-preserved gate has architectural-historical values because of the sober art nouveau formal language. The access gate forms the main entrance to the park and has a decorative and historically-functional role within the overall layout.
