Inleiding
Vrijstaand TRANSFORMATORHUISJE gebouwd omstreeks 1923 naar ontwerp van de gemeentearchitect L.H.J. WESTEROP in opdracht van de Provinciale Gelderse Electriciteits Maatschappij (PGEM). De trafo is uitgevoerd in een expressionistische bouwstijl met Amsterdamse School invloeden. Deze stijl is te herkennen aan het materiaalgebruik, de gemetselde steunberen en het verticaal uitkragend siermetselwerk boven de deuren. Het vrijstaande transformatorgebouw omsloten door grind, is gesitueerd aan de westzijde van de Apeldoornseweg in het villapark buiten de bebouwde kom van Hattem ten behoeve van de elektriciteitsvoorziening aldaar.
Omschrijving
Vrijstaand TRANSFORMATORHUISJE met rechthoekige plattegrond bestaande uit één bouwlaag afgesloten door een tentdak gedekt met rode muldenpannen en bijpassende kruis- en hoekkepervorsten. De gevels zijn boven het trasraam opgetrokken in dieprode baksteen in halfsteens verband. Het trasraam is opgetrokken in platte kanten afgesloten door een rollaag. In de tweede laag van het trasraam bevinden zich regelmatig verdeelde, horizontale ventilatieopeningen. Op de vier hoeken bevindt zich een gemetselde overhoekse steunbeer met identiek trasraam zonder ventilatieopeningen. De steunberen eindigen ter hoogte van de uitkragende rollaag juist boven de deuren van de laag- en de hoogspanningsruimten. Onder het royaal overstek bevinden zich in de gevel regelmatig verdeelde, verticale ventilatieopeningen.
Centraal in de VOORGEVEL (zuidgevel) bevindt zich een rechthoekige stalen deur met getrapte dagkant en bovenlicht. Het bovenlicht bestaande uit vijf glazen bouwstenen wordt aan de bovenzijde afgesloten door uitkragend verticaal siermetselwerk, dat aan weerszijden van het bovenlicht weer overgaat in de uitkragende rollaag.
Rechts in de LINKERZIJGEVEL (westgevel) bevindt zich een rechthoekige stalen deur aan de bovenzijde afgesloten door een liggende koppenlaag. Linksonder bevindt zich een lichtkolk met smeedijzeren rooster.
Centraal onder de uitkragende rollaag in de ACHTERGEVEL bevinden zich twee naast elkaar geplaatste vensters, elk bestaande uit drie glazen bouwstenen.
De RECHTERZIJGEVEL (oostgevel) is een blinde gevel.

Detached TRANSFORMER HOUSE built around 1923 designed by municipal architect L.H.J. WESTEROP on behalf of the Provinciale Gelderse Electriciteits Maatschappij (PGEM). Description
Detached TRANSFORMER HOUSE with rectangular floor plan consisting of one storey enclosed by a tent roof covered with red pantiles and matching cross and corner cresting. The facades are above the ashlar course executed in deep red brickwork in half-bond. The ashlar course is executed in flat joints closed off by a roll course. In the second layer of the ashlar course are regularly distributed, horizontal ventilation openings. On the four corners is a bonded diagonal buttress with identical ashlar course without ventilation openings. The buttresses end at the level of the projecting roll course just above the doors of the low and high tension rooms. Beneath the generous overhang are in the facade regularly distributed, vertical ventilation openings.
Central in the FRONT FACADE (south facade) is a rectangular steel door with stepped drip edge and fanlight. The fanlight consisting of five glass blocks is closed off at the top by projecting vertical decorative brickwork, which on either side of the fanlight transitions again into the projecting roll course.
On the right in the LEFT SIDE FACADE (west facade) is a rectangular steel door closed off at the top by a horizontal brick course. Below on the left is a light well with wrought iron grille.
Central beneath the projecting roll course in the REAR FACADE are two adjacent windows, each consisting of three glass blocks.
