Inleiding
Vrijstaand WATERPOMPSTATION gebouwd omstreeks 1923 naar ontwerp van de toenmalige gemeente-architect van Hattem, L.H.J. WESTEROP opdracht van de waterleidingmaatschappij. Het omhulsel van het elektrisch waterpompstation is uitgevoerd in een expressionistische bouwstijl met Amsterdamse School invloeden. Deze stijl is te herkennen aan het expressief gebruik van (platte) baksteen, zoals bijvoorbeeld het verticaal siermetselwerk en de uitkragende delen. Het vrijstaande waterpompstation omsloten door grind, is gesitueerd aan de westzijde van de Apeldoornseweg in het villapark buiten de bebouwde kom van Hattem ter hoogte van de Burg. van Heemstralaan.
Omschrijving
Vrijstaand WATERPOMPSTATION met rechthoekige plattegrond bestaande uit één bouwlaag afgesloten door een schilddak gedekt met rode muldenpannen met bijbehorende hoekkepervorsten. De gevels zijn boven het trasraam opgetrokken in dieprode baksteen in halfsteens verband, dat boven de vensters overgaat in verticaal metselwerk. De bovenbouw uitgevoerd in verticaal metselwerk loopt taps toe. Het trasraam is opgetrokken in platte kanten, afgesloten door een rollaag. Op de vier hoeken en in het midden van de langsgevels bevinden zich decoratief gemetselde steunberen met identiek trasraam. De steunberen worden ter hoogte van de onderbouw afgesloten door een gemetseld kapiteel, vanwaar de steunbeer als een licht uitkragende pilaster doorloopt tot onder het overstek. In elke gevel bevinden zich twee dichtgemetselde vensteropeningen met bakstenen lekdorpel. De dichtgezette vensters worden aan de bovenzijde afgesloten door verticaal, uitkragend metselwerk. Onder het royaal overstek eindigen de gevels in twee uitkragende, getrapte rollagen.
Centraal in de VOORGEVEL (oostgevel) bevindt zich de ingangspartij bestaande uit een portiek met teruggelegen geklampte rechthoekige deur. Het portiek is voorzien van een getande dagkant en wordt aan weerszijden geflankeerd door een blind venster. Het portiek wordt samen met de vensters aan de bovenzijde afgesloten door één timpaanvormig uitkragend veld van verticaal siermetselwerk. Het uitkragende veld wordt bekroond door een gemetseld, uitkragend sierelement bestaande uit drie in grote toenemende bakstenen blokken die uitkomen in een zeer kleine, dichtgezette rondboog afgesloten door een rollaag. Tussen de steunberen in de LINKERZIJGEVEL (zuidgevel) bevindt zich steeds één blind venster. De vensters worden afzonderlijk van elkaar, op dezelfde wijze afgesloten als in de voorgevel.
In de ACHTERGEVEL bevinden zich twee gecentreerde blind vensters, gezamenlijk op identieke wijze afgesloten als in de voorgevel.
De RECHTERZIJGEVEL is identiek aan de linkerzijgevel.

Detached WATER PUMPING STATION with rectangular floor plan consisting of one storey enclosed by a hipped roof covered with red pantiles with corresponding corner cresting. The facades are above the ashlar course executed in deep red brickwork in half-bond, which above the windows transitions into vertical brickwork. The superstructure executed in vertical brickwork tapers. The ashlar course is executed in flat joints, closed off by a roll course. On the four corners and in the middle of the long facades are decoratively bonded buttresses with identical ashlar course. The buttresses are closed off at the level of the substructure by a bonded capital, from where the buttress continues as a slightly projecting pilaster until below the overhang. In each facade are two sealed window openings with brick drip edge. The sealed windows are closed off at the top by vertical, projecting brickwork. Beneath the generous overhang the facades end in two projecting, stepped roll courses.
Central in the FRONT FACADE (east facade) is the entrance arrangement consisting of a porch with recessed cramped rectangular door. The porch is provided with a toothed drip edge and is flanked on either side by a blind window. The porch is closed off together with the windows at the top by a single tympanum-shaped projecting field of vertical decorative brickwork. The projecting field is crowned by a bonded, projecting decorative element consisting of three increasingly sized brick blocks that culminate in a very small, sealed round arch closed off by a roll course. Between the buttresses in the LEFT SIDE FACADE (south facade) is in each case one blind window. The windows are closed off individually from each other, in the same manner as in the front facade.
