Inleiding
TOEGANGSHEK naar het landgoed De Hoge Veluwe, in 1920 ontworpen door A.J. KROPHOLLER tussen de woningen Harskampweg 13 en 17. In samenhang met de woningen, die spiegelsymmetrisch ten opzichte van elkaar zijn geplaatst en met de beplanting met hagen en rododendrons is er sprake van een stedenbouwkundige opzet waarbij de toegang naar het landgoed benadrukt wordt.
Omschrijving
Het TOEGANGSHEK is ten opzichte van de woningen wat teruggelegen. Het hekwerk bestaat uit een smeedijzeren inrijhek tussen bakstenen pijlers geflankeerd door twee bakstenen pijlers en twee vaste hekken aan weerszijden. Vanaf dit hekwerk loopt aan weerszijden een lage gebogen bakstenen MUUR naar de woningen. De vierkante bakstenen hekpijlers zijn opgemetseld in kruisverband, en afgedekt door rechthoekige stukken Maulbronner zandsteen. In de voorzijde van de dekstukken van de pijlers van het inrijhek is in hoog reliëf de naam van het landgoed gehakt: links 'Hooge' en rechts 'Veluwe'. Aan deze pijlers zijn ijzeren staanders bevestigd met decoratief smeedwerk, waaraan zich de draaihekken bevinden die eenvoudige vertikale spijlen bezitten. Aan weerszijden zijn aan de staanders beschermijzers bevestigd. De vaste hekken zijn sobere onversierde hekken op een bakstenen muurtje, met vertikale spijlen. De smeedijzeren hekwerken zijn groengeschilderd.

ENTRANCE GATE to the estate De Hoge Veluwe, designed in 1920 by A.J. KROPHOLLER between the dwellings Harskampweg 13 and 17. Description
The ENTRANCE GATE is somewhat set back in relation to the dwellings. The gatework consists of a wrought iron entrance gate between brick pillars flanked by two brick pillars and two fixed gates on either side. From this gatework runs on either side a low curved brick WALL toward the dwellings. The square brick gate pillars are built in cross bond, and topped by rectangular pieces of Maulbronn sandstone. In the front of the coping stones of the pillars of the entrance gate is carved in high relief the name of the estate: on the left 'Hooge' and on the right 'Veluwe'. To these pillars are fastened iron posts with decorative wrought ironwork, to which the hinged gates are attached which have simple vertical spiles. On either side protective irons are fastened to the posts. The fixed gates are plain undecorated gates on a brick wall, with vertical spiles. The wrought iron gates are painted green.
