Inleiding
POMPHUISJE als onderdeel van de buitenplaats 'Sint Hubertus' in 1923 gebouwd naar ontwerp van H. VAN DE VELDE in opdracht van het echtpaar Kröller-Müller. De hoofdvorm sluit aan bij Egyptische voorbeelden, zoals bij die van mastaba's. De onderbouw bevindt zich, afgezien van het ontbreken van de ijzeren molen, in gave staat.
Omschrijving
Het POMPHUISJE dat de onderbouw van een voormalige windmolen vormde, is een blokvormig bouwwerk, gebouwd op een vierkant terras en gedekt met een plat dak met een sterk overstek. De gevels lopen naar boven wat taps toe en zijn opgetrokken in baksteen, met grof behakte blokken natuursteen (Maulbronner zandsteen) gebruikt voor de plint, de gevelhoeken, deuromlijsting en de rechthoekige, opengewerkte attiek zone waarop het dak rust. De voorgevel bevat de ingang die aan de bovenzijde driezijdig is afgesloten en omgeven wordt door een zandstenen omlijsting, in de sluiting voorzien van een gestileerd gewei met kruis in het midden, het embleem van de hoge Veluwe. De zware metalen deur is voorzien van klinknagels en heeft afgeschuinde bovenhoeken. De deur heeft een veelhoekig drieruits raam. De rechterzijgevel, achtergevel en linkerzijgevel zijn blind. Het interieur is boven een hoge plint in zandsteen (blokverband) grotendeels witgepleisterd. Ook in de gevelhoeken is zandsteen toegepast evenals rond de deur en in de verhoogde, opengewerkte dakrand. Tegen elke wand staan twee steunberen. De vloer is van klinkers in halfsteensverband. In het midden van de ruimte bevindt zich een put, omgeven door een bakstenen opstand met een stalen draaihek en afdekrooster.

Description
The PUMP HOUSE which formed the base of a former windmill is a block-shaped building, constructed on a square terrace and covered with a flat roof with a strong overhang. The facades taper slightly towards the top and are built in brick, with roughly hewn blocks of natural stone (Maulbronn sandstone) used for the plinth, the facade corners, door frame and the rectangular, open-work attic zone on which the roof rests. The front facade contains the entrance which is closed off at the top in three-sided fashion and surrounded by a sandstone frame, provided in the closure with a stylised antler with cross in the centre, the emblem of the High Veluwe. The heavy metal door is furnished with rivets and has bevelled upper corners. The door has a polygonal three-light window. The right side facade, rear facade and left side facade are blind. The interior is above a high plinth in sandstone (block bond) largely finished in white plaster. Sandstone is also applied in the facade corners as well as around the door and in the raised, open-work roof edge. Against each wall stand two buttresses. The floor is of clinker bricks in half-brick bond. In the centre of the space is a well, surrounded by a brick upstand with a steel rotating gate and cover grating.
