Inleiding
Omstreeks 1900 in de stijl van het traditionalisme gebouwd voormalig kantoor voor de firma Van der Griendt. Het ontwerp wordt toegeschreven aan architect L. Kooken. Het voormalig kantoor is in de nabijheid van de vml. turfstrooiselfabriek gesitueerd.
Omschrijving
Het voormalig kantoorgebouw telt een bouwlaag en wordt afgedekt met een wolfsdak in lengterichting. Het gebouw bezit een rechthoekige plattegrond. Aan de achtergevel een aanbouw met plat dak. De gevels zijn wit gesaust. Rechthoekige houten vensters en deuren met bovenlichten met roedeverdeling.
De voorgevel is symmetrisch ingedeeld. Rechthoekige houten voordeur met hierin twee smeedijzeren hekjes. Voordeur onder een brede luifel rustend op houten consoles. In de voorgevel twee driedelige vensters met rechthoekige luiken. Bovenlichten van de vensters in een boogvormig spaarveld.
Dak met overstek op houten consoles. In het dakdeel boven de voordeur een brede dakkapel.
In de linkerzijgevel in de eerste bouwlaag twee vensters met bovenlichten in een segmentboogvormige omlijsting. In de topgevel twee kleinere vensters.
In de eerste bouwlaag van de rechterzijgevel twee vensters met houten luiken en in de topgevel twee kleinere vensters.
In het rechterdeel van de achtergevel in de eerste bouwlaag een driedelig venster met luiken. Bovenlicht in een rondboogvormig spaarveld. Middendeel achtergevel uitlopend in een doorlopend geveldeel met hierin een rechthoekig venster.
Tegen het linkerdeel van de achtergevel en de rechterzijgevel een aanbouw in een bouwlaag met plat dak: in de drie gevels van deze aanbouw rechthoekige vensters met bovenlichten met roedeverdeling. Deze aanbouw dateert uit het eerste kwart van de 20ste eeuw. In de oksel van het middendeel van de achtergevel en de aanbouw een kleine kubusvormige aanbouw in een bouwlaag met plat dak.
Structuur van het INTERIEUR is vrijwel in tact hetgeen blijkt uit situering van gang, trappenhuis, kamers en kantoor. Kamers met authentiek balkenplafond; authentieke houten vensteromlijstingen; authentieke houten trap met leuning met spijlen en hoofdbaluster.
Waardering
Het voormalige kantoor van de firma Van der Griendt bezit cultuurhistorische waarde als voorbeeld van de kantoorhuisvesting voor de directie van een firma voor de fabricage van turfstrooisel.
Het kantoor bezit architectuurhistorsche waarde wegens de toegepaste bouwstijl en de ornamentiek. Ensemblewaarde bezit dit voormalig kantoor als onderdeel van het beschermd gezicht Griendtsveen, want het is op korte afstand gesitueerd van de turfstrooiselfabriek.

In the left side facade in the first storey two windows with fanlights in a segmented arch-shaped frame. In the top gable two smaller windows.

In the right part of the rear facade in the first storey a three-part window with shutters. Fanlight in a round arch-shaped spandrel. Middle part rear facade running into a continuous facade section with in it a rectangular window.
Against the left part of the rear facade and the right side facade an extension in one storey with flat roof: in the three facades of this extension rectangular windows with fanlights with glazing bars. This extension dates from the first quarter of the 20th century. In the corner junction of the middle part of the rear facade and the extension a small cubic extension in one storey with flat roof.
The structure of the INTERIOR is virtually intact, as is evident from the situation of corridor, staircase, rooms and office. Rooms with authentic beam ceiling; authentic wooden window frames; authentic wooden staircase with railing with spindles and main baluster.
