4. KANTINE Omschrijving
De KANTINE heeft een rechthoekig grondplan en anderhalve bouwlaag en een zolderverdieping onder een overstekend zadeldak met betonpannen en windveren. De voorgevel heeft een tweelaags uitbouw, waarvan het overstekende zadeldak dezelfde nokhoogte heeft als de hoofdmassa. Tegen de rechter zijgevel bevindt zich een later aangebouwde rechthoekige éénlaags serre met plat dak.
De kantine is opgetrokken uit in kruisverband gemetselde baksteen. Het gebouw heeft een met hardsteen afgedekte plint en sierbanden van gele verblendsteen. De gevels worden afgesloten met geprofileerde bakgoten op korbelen. De vensters hebben hardstenen lekdorpels en zijn recht afgesloten in de lange gevels en segmentboogvormig in de korte gevels, waar ze zijn voorzien van zandstenen geboorte- en sluitstenen.
De asymmetrisch ingedeelde VOORGEVEL heeft links van het midden een uitbouw, waarin zich de ingangspartij bevindt. Deze bestaat uit een verbrede deur, een 3-ruits bovenlicht en een rondboog met zandstenen geboorte- en sluitstenen. De rondboogtrommel is gevuld met metselmozaïek. Hierboven bevindt zich een venster dat op dezelfde wijze is afgesloten en een zandstenen veld met het inschrift: "CANTINE" in Art Nouveau-stijl. De kantine telt links van het vooruitspringend gedeelte vier vensterassen rechts ervan acht vensterassen. In de eerste bouwlaag bevinden zich vier deuropeningen met moderne deuren en acht vensters met 9-ruits ramen. In de tweede bouwlaag bevinden zich twaalf 3-ruits ramen met verticale roedenverdeling. Oorspronkelijk sloot onder deze vensters het lessenaarsdak van de veranda aan, die de volle breedte van de gevel besloeg.
De LINKER ZIJGEVEL heeft drie vensters met 15-ruits schuiframen en metselmozaïek in de segmentboogtrommels.
De RECHTER ZIJGEVEL wordt grotendeels aan het oog onttrokken door de later aangebouwde serre. Boven de serre bevinden zich twee segmentboogvormige 3-ruits bovenlichten. Rechts bevindt zich een dichtgemetseld venster. In de topgevel bevindt zich een stolpraam met 8-ruits bovenlicht en luiken, afgesloten door een strek met geboorte- en sluitstenen.
De ACHTERGEVEL heeft vier groepen van drie dichter bij elkaar geplaatste, langwerpige vensters, die bestaan uit een 9-ruits raam en een 3-ruits bovenlicht, die ter plaatse van de verdiepingsvloer worden gescheiden door een betegeld veld. Een van onderramen is vervangen door een deur. Tussen de eerste en de tweede groep vensters van rechts bevinden zich twee deuropeningen, waarvan de rechtse deels is dichtgemetseld. De rondboogvormig afgesloten deuren hebben een bovenlicht en een boogtrommel met metselmozaïek.

4. CANTEEN Description
The CANTEEN has a rectangular ground plan and one-and-a-half storeys and an attic storey under an overhanging gabled roof with concrete tiles and roof ridges. The front facade has a two-storey extension, of which the overhanging gabled roof has the same ridge height as the main mass. Against the right side facade there is a later added rectangular single-storey conservatory with a flat roof.
The canteen is constructed of brickwork laid in Flemish bond. The building has a plinth covered with hardstone and decorative bands of yellow facing brick. The facades are finished with profiled brickwork gutters on corbels. The windows have hardstone drip moulds and are straight-topped on the long facades and segmental arch-shaped on the short facades, where they are provided with sandstone voussoirs and keystones.
The asymmetrically arranged FRONT FACADE has on the left of the centre an extension, in which the entrance section is located. This consists of a widened door, a 3-pane fanlight and a round arch with sandstone voussoirs and keystones. The round arch drum is filled with brick mosaic. Above this is a window that is closed in the same manner and a sandstone panel with the inscription: "CANTINE" in Art Nouveau style. The canteen has four window bays to the left of the projecting section and eight window bays to the right of it. On the first storey there are four door openings with modern doors and eight windows with 9-pane sashes. On the second storey there are twelve 3-pane sashes with vertical glazing bars. Originally a lean-to roof of the veranda, which spanned the full width of the facade, was located below these windows.
The LEFT SIDE FACADE has three windows with 15-pane sash windows and brick mosaic in the segmental arch drums.
The RIGHT SIDE FACADE is largely hidden from view by the later added conservatory. Above the conservatory there are two segmental arch-shaped 3-pane fanlights. On the right there is a bricked-up window. In the gable there is a skylight with 8-pane fanlight and shutters, closed by a stone course with voussoirs and keystones.
The REAR FACADE has four groups of three closely spaced, elongated windows, which consist of a 9-pane sash and a 3-pane fanlight, which at the floor level are separated by a tiled panel. One of the lower windows has been replaced by a door. Between the first and the second group of windows from the right there are two door openings, of which the right one is partly bricked up. The round arch-shaped doors have a fanlight and an arch drum with brick mosaic.
Valuation
CANTEEN from 1905-1906.
- Of architectural historical value as a good and fairly intact example of a canteen with influences of neo-Renaissance style and Art Nouveau.
