6. DE TOEGANGSHEKKEN
Omschrijving
De TOEGANGSHEKKEN zijn gebouwd ca. 1916 in een stijl die invloed vertoont van de heroriëntatie op traditionele bouwwijzen.
Het toegangshek aan het begin van de oprijlaan bestaat uit twee hekpijlers van rode baksteen en een dubbel smeedijzeren hek. De vierkante, in staand verband gemetselde pijlers hebben inspringende hoeken, gecementeerde plinten en hoge geprofileerde zandstenen dekplaten, die worden bekroond door grote koperen lantaarns. Het smeedijzeren gedeelte bestaat uit twee vaste delen tegen de pijlers en een dubbel draaihek ertussen. In de vaste delen zijn is links en rechts in vergulde smeedijzeren letters de naam van het landgoed aangebracht resp. : "BRAKKE" en "STEYN".
Het toegangshek bij de noordwestelijke toegang tot het park, aan het einde van de Driehuizerweg, heeft hekpijlers die op dezelfde wijze zijn vormgegeven. Hier zijn echter geen lantaarns aangebracht en het ijzeren draaihek is niet oorspronkelijk.

6. THE ENTRANCE GATES
Description
The ENTRANCE GATES were built c. 1916 in a style showing influence of the reorientation towards traditional building methods.
The entrance gate at the beginning of the approach drive consists of two gate pilasters of red brick and a double wrought-iron gate. The square pilasters laid in English bond have inset corners, cemented plinths and tall moulded sandstone coping stones, crowned by large copper lanterns. The wrought-iron section consists of two fixed sections against the pilasters and a double swing gate between them. In the fixed sections gilded wrought-iron letters on the left and right bear the name of the estate respectively: "BRAKKE" and "STEYN".
The entrance gate at the northwestern access to the park, at the end of the Driehuizerweg, has gate pilasters designed in the same manner. Here, however, no lanterns are mounted and the iron swing gate is not original.
