Inleiding.
PASTORIE van de H. Martinusparochie met kenmerken van de neo-Gotische stijl uit 1920. Het ontwerp is van architect W. te Riele uit Utrecht. De oost- of voorgevel ligt aan de Jan Deckersstraat. De kerk staat zuidelijk van de pastorie.
Omschrijving.
De tweelaagse blokvormige pastorie heeft een samengestelde plattegrond onder overstekende schilddaken, gedekt met natuursteen leien. Aan oost-, zuid- en westkant van het huis in het dak een gemetselde trapgevel. Het opgaande muurwerk bestaat uit handgevormde baksteen gemetseld in kruisverband. Horizontale banden accentueren de muuropeningen. In de muuropeningen gemetselde kruisvensters met een natuurstenen kalf en lekdorpel. De bovenkant van het venster heeft twee segmentbogen. De bovenramen van de vensters zijn voorzien van glas-in-lood met in het midden een ornament. Het interieur is vrijwel authentiek. Aan de straat een gegolfd ijzeren hekwerk met pijlpunten staande op een gemetselde schansmuurtje met ezelsrug tussen pilasters. In de tuin van de pastorie diverse monumentale bomen. Bijzonder is de mammoetboom.
Waardering.
De pastorie is van algemeen belang. Zij heeft cultuur-historisch belang als bijzondere uitdrukking van de ontwikkeling van het katholicisme in het zuiden en is tevens van belang voor de typologische ontwikkeling van de pastorie. Zij heeft architectuur-historische waarde vanwege de stijl en de detaillering en vanwege de plaats in het oeuvre van de architect Te Riele. Het gebouw heeft ensemblewaarden vanwege de bijzondere betekenis voor de ontwikkeling van het kerkdorp.

Description.
The two-storey block-shaped rectory has a composite ground plan under overhanging hipped roofs, covered with natural slate. On the east, south and west sides of the house a masoned stepped gable in the roof. The external masonry consists of hand-moulded brick laid in cross bond. Horizontal bands accentuate the wall openings. Masoned cross windows in the wall openings with a natural stone sill and drip moulding. The top of the window has two segmental arches. The upper panes of the windows are provided with stained glass with an ornament in the middle. The interior is virtually authentic. At the street a corrugated iron fence with arrow points standing on a masoned scarp wall with half-hipped roof between pilasters. In the garden of the rectory various monumental trees. Particularly remarkable is the mammoth tree.
Valuation.
The rectory is of general importance. It has cultural-historical importance as a particular expression of the development of Catholicism in the south and is also of importance for the typological development of the rectory. It has architectural-historical value because of the style and the detailing and because of the place in the oeuvre of architect Te Riele. The building has ensemble values because of its particular significance for the development of the church village.
