Inleiding
HERENHUIS in eclectische stijl, uit het vierde kwart van de 19de eeuw. Het huis ligt vrij op het perceel op de hoek met de Molenstraat. De voor- of zuidgevel staat aan de Kapelstraat.
Omschrijving
Eenlaags symmetrisch herenhuis, vijf traveeën breed onder mansardedak met wolfeinden gedekt met kruispannen. De vorst voorzien van terracotta crête of kam. Het huis is gepleisterd. Voorgevel met geblokte midden- en hoekpilasters. Muuropeningen met geprofileerde stuclijsten en kuifbekroning met een palmet-ornament. Boven de ingangspartij in het dak een houten kapel met tympaan op voluutvormige, versprongen consoles. De kapel is geflankeerd door een zinken oeil de boeuf. Dubbele voordeur voorzien van geëtst glas. Schuifvensters.
Interieur grotendeels gaaf en voorzien van paneeldeuren en stucplafonds uit de bouwtijd.

One-storey symmetrical mansion, five bays wide under mansard roof with half-hipped ends covered with interlocking tiles. The ridge provided with terracotta crest. The house is plastered. Front façade with blocked central and corner pilasters. Wall openings with profiled stucco mouldings and hood moulding with a palmette ornament. Above the entrance section in the roof a wooden cupola with tympanum on volute-shaped, set-back consoles. The cupola is flanked by a zinc oculus. Double front door provided with etched glass. Sash windows.
Interior largely intact and provided with panelled doors and stucco ceilings from the period of construction.
Valuation
The mansion is of general importance. It has cultural-historical importance as a particular expression of socio-economic development, namely the creation of wealthier village dwellings in the existing street scene; it is also of importance as an example of the typological development of the village dwelling.
