Inleiding
Warme KAS (complexonderdeel 6) vermoedelijk bedoeld als bloemenkas met aan de westzijde twee grote platte BAKKEN, gebouwd omstreeks 1928 in de nutstuin ten zuiden van het jachtslot. De kas is opgebouwd in een combinatie van hout en ijzer en werd verwarmd door middel van een stookketel. Kraantjes in de aangrenzende verdiepte tuin wijzen op een afwateringsysteem vanuit de kas. De kas bevindt zich in goede staat. Het ketelhuis met ketel is bewaard gebleven.
Beschrijving
Warme KAS op rechthoekige grondslag met aan de lange noordzijde een gedeeltelijk in de aarde gegraven ketelhuis. Ten noorden ervan liggen losse bijbehorende PLANTENBAKKEN met omrandingen in rode verblendsteen. De kas heeft een in rode verblendsteen in halfsteensverband gemetselde voetmuur. Hierop bevindt zich een glazen opbouw in zadeldakvorm opgebouwd uit houten stijlen, sporen en gordingen dichtgezet met glas. Onder deze houten constructie bevindt zich een in ijzeren profielen uitgevoerde draagconstructie bestaande uit een op de voetmuur gezet kniespant met gebogen schoren. De spanten worden verbonden door ijzeren gordingen waarop de houten sporen rusten. In beide dakvlakken bevinden zich tegen de nok te openen ventilatieramen. Aan de voetmuurtjes bevinden zich op regelmatige afstand van elkaar bevestigingshaken voor de thans verdwenen zonwerking. De ZUIDGEVEL en WESTGEVEL zijn blind. De OOSTGEVEL heeft een ingang door middel van rechtafgesloten dubbele houten opgeklampte deuren met elk een drieruits glaspaneel. Het ketelhuis bevindt zich tegen de NOORDGEVEL en heeft een gemetseld rookkanaal. De onderste helft van de schoorsteen is in rode strengperssteen gemetseld. De rechthoekige aanbouw verheft zich iets boven het maaiveld en heeft een platte afdekking. In het plat twee rechthoekige lucht- of lichtopeningen. Het INTERIEUR van de kas is in twee ruimten verdeeld, met op de scheiding een houten kozijn en lage deelmuur, met doorgangen voor de looppaden. De looppaden in de kas tussen de bloembakken zijn belegd met witte kleine vierkante tegeltjes. Langs de wanden bevinden zich doorlopende werktafels, met kweekbakken in witte strengperssteen. In het midden van de ruimten bevinden zich twee grote werktafels in zelfde trant. De bakken hebben afgeronde hoeken en de bovenzijde van de in halfsteens verband gemetselde bakken is afgewerkt met een rollaag. In de wanden van de werktafels bevinden zich openingen met houten kozijntjes. Hierachter lopen onder de kweekbakken verwarmingsbuizen. De aanbouw aan de noordzijde is toegankelijk via een buitentrapje en bestaat uit de eigenlijke ketelruimte met oude stookketel, en een tweede stook- of bergruimte.
Waardering
De omstreeks 1928 gebouwde KAS bij het Jachtslot Mookerheide bezit cultuurhistorische waarde omdat het een bijzondere uitdrukking is van een typologische en technische ontwikkeling in de architectuur en bouwwijze van kassen. De kas is bovendien een uiting van een historisch- functioneel ontwikkeling omdat dergelijke kassen in deze tijd bij uitstek een onderdeel zijn van moestuinen op historische buitenplaatsen. De kas heeft architectuurhistorische waarde als gaaf en goed voorbeeld van een kas uit de eerste helft van de twintigste eeuw, vanwege de constructiewijze en de toegepaste kenmerkende rode verblendsteen. Description
Warm GREENHOUSE on a rectangular ground plan with a boiler house partly dug into the earth on the long northern side. To the north of this lie loose associated PLANT BEDS with surrounds in red facing brick. The greenhouse has a footing wall laid in red facing brick in half-brick bond. Upon this is situated a glazed structure in the form of a gabled roof constructed from wooden posts, purlins and joists sealed with glass. Beneath this wooden structure is a load-bearing structure executed in iron profiles consisting of a knee brace set on the footing wall with curved braces. The trusses are connected by iron joists on which the wooden purlins rest. In both roof planes there are ventilation windows opening to the ridge. On the footing walls there are fixing hooks regularly spaced for the now-vanished shade blinds. The SOUTH GABLE and WEST GABLE are blind. The EAST GABLE has an entrance by means of a right-angled double wooden clamped doors each with a three-pane glass panel. The boiler house is situated against the NORTH GABLE and has a masonry flue. The lower half of the chimney is laid in red pressed brick. The rectangular extension rises slightly above ground level and has a flat covering. In the flat two rectangular air or light openings. The INTERIOR of the greenhouse is divided into two rooms, with a wooden frame and low partition wall on the division, with passages for the walkways. The walkways in the greenhouse between the flower beds are laid with white small square tiles. Along the walls are continuous work tables, with propagation beds in white pressed brick. In the centre of the rooms are two large work tables of the same kind. The beds have rounded corners and the top of the beds laid in half-brick bond is finished with a roll edge. In the walls of the work tables are openings with wooden frames. Behind these run heating pipes below the propagation beds.
