Inleiding
Onderdelen van de Historische buitenplaats behorende tot het jachtslot Mookerheide, tot stand gekomen vanaf 1904 onder invloed van de Gemengde Tuinstijl en verfraaid in de jaren 1910-1934. De aanleg maakt deel uit van het grotere landgoed waarvan het karakter voornamelijk bepaald wordt door bos en grote hoogteverschillen. De bospercelen zijn ingeplant vanaf omstreeks 1870, toen het gebied werd ontgonnen.
De beschermde aanleg betreft een parkbos met doorzicht, twee lange oprijlanen, een omheinde nutstuin omzoomd en ontsloten door lanen ten zuiden van het landhuis en een op enige afstand van het jachthuis gelegen sterrebos, dat is ontstaan als onderdeel van het productiebos in de zuidelijke helft van het landgoed. De officiële ontwerper van de aanleg rond het jachtslot is de rentmeester van J.J. Luden, D. Montenberg. Voor het gedeelte aan de noordzijde van het landhuis is echter ook een tekening van L.A. Springer (1855-1940) bekend. Op het landgoed bevindt zich verder onder meer een hertenkamp uit de jaren vijftig van de twintigste eeuw, gelegen aan de zuidzijde van de westelijke oprijlaan. De aanleg verkeert in sterk verwaarloosde staat, maar de onderdelen zijn goed herkenbaar.
Omschrijving
Historische Buitenplaats bestaande uit oprijlanen, een bospark met doorzicht, een rechthoekige nutstuin omzoomd door rechte paden en een sterrebos. De oprijlanen leiden vanaf de Heumensebaan vanuit westelijke en oostelijke richting naar het voorplein van het landhuis. Bij het landhuis splitsen de lanen zich en komen voor en achter het pand samen. Aan de voorzijde splitsen de lanen zich nogmaals in twee paden naar de gebogen hellingbanen van het huis. Ten noorden van het huis bevindt zich een met gras ingezaaid ovaal perk. Aan weerzijden worden de splitsingen van de paden gemarkeerd door met bomen en struiken beplante sierpercelen. De lanen, vanaf de aanleg verhard, zijn beplant met bomen aan weerzijden. Aan de westzijde bevinden zich aan de entree van de laan niet-oorspronkelijke toegangshekken. De oostelijke laan wordt aan de Heumensebaan gemarkeerd door twee eenvoudige pijlers uit de ontstaanstijd. Het parkbos met doorzicht strekt zich ten noorden van het jachthuis uit tussen de twee oprijlanen en de Heumensebaan en heeft in de middenas een uitgespaarde grashelling waardoor een doorzicht ontstaat georiënteerd op de voorgevel van het landhuis. In de helling bevinden zich keermuren (monumentnummer 5510011). Het bos is beplant met diverse loof- en naaldbomen en wordt doorsneden door paden met een slingerend verloop. In het oostelijke deel van dit parkbos nabij het jachthuis, bevindt zich het betonnen bruggetje (monumentnummer 5510012) en de wildkelder (monumentnummer 5510013). De nutstuin ligt ten zuiden van het landhuis en beslaat een rechthoekig perceel afgesloten door een omheining die mogelijk uit het tweede of derde kwart van de twintigste eeuw stamt. Tussen deze tuin en het pad achter het landhuis ligt een dicht met douglas begroeid perceel. De tuin wordt door vier rechte lanen omgeven. In de westelijke helft van de nutstuin zijn twee kassen (monumentnummer 5510014-17), een fruitmuur (5510016) en de verdiepte tuin gelegen (5510015). De oostelijke helft is thans in gebruik als weiland en kent geen bebouwing. Ten westen van de verdiepte tuin bevindt zich een kleine boomgaard. Verder komen in de westelijke helft van de nutstuin nog diverse in rode strengperssteen gemetselde muurtjes voor. Het sterrebos wordt gevormd door enkele diagonale paden en maakt onderdeel uit van het zuidelijke gedeelte van het landgoed dat is ontstaan en werd beheerd als productiebos, met percelen met naaldbos en gemengd bos en enkele weilanden langs de randen van het landgoed.
Waardering
De onderdelen van de historische buitenplaats bij Jachtslot Mookerheide zijn van algemeen cultuurhistorisch en tuinarchitectuurhistorisch belang als essentieel en structurerend onderdeel van het in het eerste kwart van de twintigste eeuw tot stand gekomen landgoed Mookerheide. To the north of the house is an oval bed sown with grass. On either side, the path divisions are marked by ornamental plots planted with trees and shrubs. The drives, hardened from the time of creation, are planted with trees on both sides. On the west side, non-original entrance gates are located at the entry to the drive. The eastern drive is marked at the Heumensebaan by two simple pillars from the period of creation. The parkland forest with a vista extends to the north of the hunting lodge between the two approach drives and the Heumensebaan and has an open grass slope in the central axis which creates a vista oriented towards the front facade of the manor house. In the slope are retaining walls (monument number 5510011). The forest is planted with various deciduous and coniferous trees and is traversed by paths with a winding course. In the eastern part of this parkland forest near the hunting lodge is the concrete bridge (monument number 5510012) and the game larder (monument number 5510013). The utility garden lies to the south of the manor house and covers a rectangular plot enclosed by a fence which possibly dates from the second or third quarter of the twentieth century. Between this garden and the path behind the manor house is a plot densely planted with Douglas fir. The garden is surrounded by four straight avenues. In the western half of the utility garden are two greenhouses (monument numbers 5510014-17), a fruit wall (5510016) and the sunken garden (5510015). The eastern half is currently in use as pasture and has no buildings. To the west of the sunken garden is a small orchard. Furthermore, in the western half of the utility garden there are still various small walls built of red stretcher-pressed brick. The radial forest is formed by several diagonal paths and forms part of the southern section of the estate which was created and managed as production forest, with plots of coniferous and mixed forest and several pastures along the margins of the estate.

The components of the historic country estate at Jachtslot Mookerheide are of general cultural-historical and garden-architectural-historical significance as an essential and structuring component of the estate Mookerheide created in the first quarter of the twentieth century.
